Arralen -> [WAI] MINOR pulled into war with PLAYER by event, but ignores (1/18/2021 10:34:42 AM)

Even by an event a MINOR should not start a suicidal 2-front war against 1 MAJOR + PLAYER.
The event (e.g. "Strange Mercenaries" with "Shadow Infantry") should check for this.

Event (turn ?20?) said (paraphrased):
"MINOR (Chronpeak) is hiring strange mercenaries and is going to attack us.
Should we declare war to deter more mercenaries from hiring?"
I chose "no".
MINOR (Chronpeak) was at that time at war against MAJOR (TIEFRAUM) and losing.
MINOR used those mercenaries to beat back the MAJOR, but has not defeated him yet.
Now MINOR (Chronpeak) declares war on me, without having any troops at my border, and with no chance to resist my attack through his back area to his town.
Interestingly, the MINOR doesn't even try to attack me in the following turns?!

Update (running 1.07.05matrix):

It't turn 45 and the MINOR (Chronpeak) is still ignoring me, using ~80% of its troops to fight the MAJOR.

It only used 1 unit to reclaim some hex I retreated from (U can see that "41" at the top). No fights, all troops are massing in the south.
(Intel gives me only view on ~50% of the units atm.)

While Vic did make a fix in v1.06.15 beta, this might have been only about avoinding the issue from happening - not recovering from when it happens.

And a lot of AI fixes do need new savegames as well. That still happening in that one game, does not imply a persistence of the underlying bug.

The game was started with 1.07.01.
It's in the thread title.

And I see nothing in the 1.06.15beta patch notes that points of any of the 2 issues described above.

It can happen. Working as intended. The majors take care to not make mistakes like this, but the minors do not. And we could think of a plausible story why it went like it went. (anybody remember hitler declaring war on the USA while his army was starting to freeze to death before the gates of moscow?)

Nevertheless, I think the event should either abort at some point if the MINOR is already at war with a MAJOR, or at least the MINOR should try to fight a proper 2-front war, shouldn't it? [:D]
