ORIGINAL: shri Ok, so i am the Entente and facing "THIS END UP". the Schlieffen was brilliant but expected. I had already written off Belgium mentally. The naval invasion was unexpected. Suddenly the RN is 2 BBs (+4 cruisers and a destroyer) down for the loss of 1 sub, 1 old BB and 1 BC on his side. Of course his fleet has suffered damages too (2 of his BBs are 5+ damaged). Still now my dilemma is 2 fold - Keep the fleet in the channel on the defense or start blockading in Scapa flow with the risk that the Channel may get mined.? I don't mind losing the cruisers, the DD hurts and the BB hurts badly in terms of NM. Any tips? Thanks in advance. Go to this forum thread, at the bottom of page 2, and read on. [8D] 'Why are subs so much worse in this game vs WIE and WAW?' It details my encounter with ThisEndUp's Imperial German Navy....the most brilliant foray of the IGN I ever encountered in a pbem++ match of SC-WW1. I can't give you advice for an on going match, and ThisEndUp is a regular opponent of mine. Also, he may read it and use it against you! :)) If you read the thread, the record speaks for itself since it was after the game was over. I was hesitant even then to reveal this stratagem of his...but he took credit for it later..well deserved credit I might add. I will say this though (as advice I guess after all). Be very very careful out in the high seas of the Atlantic for the rest of the War. You have a cunning and very smart opponent that knows how to use the IGN to great effect! Thanks, that was helpful. I am still learning the game, i thought it's better to play PBEM and lose than play the boring AI, 7th game so far and have learnt something in each game. This one was the most enlightening. Also have learnt a lot from you guys, Yourself, Chernobyl, Dozo, Tanaka etc. writings on the forums.
