Whilst the player has an OHQ selected, draw a border of the OHQ's assigned colour around the hexes at the outermost edge of the OHQ's command range. Easy, and minimal conflict with existing overlays.
Throw in an optional toggle to show all OHQ command ranges (enjoy your battle lines looking like the olympic rings... [:D]) and you're done.

Also a secondary suggestion related to this (if there isn't already a feat in existence) is a feat could be a recon drone that is attached to the leader that will boost their operational range by 2 or 3 hexes wide.
There's already a similar attached unit for artillery - spotter drones - so I'd suggest making it either a research thing (similar to adv. recon equipment) or changing the fluff of the card to being something like "High-Grade/Republic Comms Gear" to avoid confusion. Broadcasts further, less susceptible to enemy jamming, better audio quality, either way all adds up to +command range.
