Anybody else getting incredibly slow performance when browsing the Strategems?

I'm playing on a large map and quite late into the game, but even clicking on the Strategem tab hangs the game up for almost 10 seconds in some cases.

Yes, probably it's the reason for the game auto-scrapping cards past a certain total number.

Even auto-scrapping cards isn't fixing this for me. It's the one issue remaining with the game for me now. If Vic can sort this, I'm happy :)

You know, you could manually scrap cards as well.

Not like you are using most of the cards you got in the first place :)

Here's why I don't:

1. It's really tedious removing 30 cards a turn.
2. The sound effect for scrapping is really loud and annoying.
3. If you're doing well at the game, the game just generates new cards again the next turn.

Something has to be done. I've got a monstrously powerful CPU and yet this game makes it crawl to a standstill with this new scrapping system.

You know, you could defund the councils whose cards you do not need.
Or at least the card parts of the councils you still got use for.

Based on teh Stratagem Report, there seems to be a lineary increasing cost based on how many instances of any one Stratagem you already got.

That's a good idea, I'm probably wasting a lot of BP on those parts! But I still think the game lag issue could be fixed ;)

No, no mods. While I'm a big fan of Pymous's art in Dominions and I think he's made an incredibly good job of the mod, I'm used to the art the game ships with now and I think it fits with the rest of the graphics in the game.

Thanks! I think i improved the speed a bit in open beta .03 (just uploaded)

Its a LOT of Zones you have though!

Made me think about finding a way to allow merging Zones.

You could allow us to turn Cities into Free Folk towns, dropping their zones.
Keeps the population around, removes them from the Zone tab.

In the Beta thread you missed to rename the iteration to 1.09.03, it still says .02.

Highest zone count I had was 54 IIRC. Is that much? :D

This is *kind of* what the "Expel Population" stratagem (Interior Policies, but executed by the Staff Director with Operational Command) seems to be able to do ?

I'm going to have the opportunity to test it soon on an AI Village that doesn't seem to be worth keeping, even if I lose some Populace and Assets that way...

Now I already know that it kills population (populace, actually ?), but I also wonder about then losing the resulting Free Folks to migration to other regime's Zones ? Any idea how fast that can happen ?

Well, I guess that's also what the Forced Relocation and Attract Free Folk stratagems are for !

And nope, expelling population will not remove the city from the map to my knowledge.
