HalfLifeExpert -> Scenario 9 Feedback (10/30/2021 1:59:36 AM)

I completed this scenario, albeit I did go past the allotted time, since I was at over 400 Points and had free reign over Cam Ranh Bay above AAA range.

I took pretty serious losses in Strike Aircraft, but the Soviets were hit very hard, and the Vietnamese lost over 20 MiGs.

I also accidentally attacked a PRC submarine, forcing them to be hostile and costing me 100 points. Had I been able to avoid fighting the Chinese, I may have been able to avoid going into overtime.

The one thing I feel I need to bring up is that the player doesn't receive any score for laying mines outside Cam Ranh Bay, despite that being part of your orders for this operation.

A further point on the scoring is that the 100 point deduction to Coalition Forces occurs even after China fires first and Coalition is simply defending itself. That is, each Luda fires as soon as they ID the Coalition ships, but self-defense/retaliation results in the 100 point strike. It wouldn't be SO bad if the Ludas had only missiles which can be taken out, but they'll close to fire with guns in which case they cannot be ignored any longer.

It seems to me that the 100 point deduction, regrettable as it is that China becomes hostile to Coalition Forces, should only apply if Coalition fires first. Or is this not possible with tools like LUA?
