help me!

winter halves all combat values of units? or just attack values?

fins/russians only experience half this reduction-is this correct?

troops with the winterization perk have attack values doubled?

do winterized troops recover effectiveness faster(since that's a problem in winter)??

AlvaroSousa -> RE: winter/winterization (1/29/2022 3:35:30 PM)

Page 50 of the in game manual.
Snow -35%
Blizzard -50%
Non-Soviet/Fin their effectiveness drops like a rock.
Winterized specialty +100% combat bonus

IT'S THE LAW!!

Hi Boldaraide,

For winterezed countries, they are not supposed to be affected by winter penalities. So no Soviet of Fin or Swedish unit should get the extra readiness drop.

Just to confirm...say a unit is attack strength of 10...

Does that mean if the unit is winterized:

Snow: 13 Str
Blizzard: 10 Str

?

Based on what you are saying seems that way.

I think winterization should take effect in cold too but that is me.

Then again I think cold should have minuses to non-winterized countries.

AlvaroSousa -> RE: winter/winterization (1/29/2022 5:36:21 PM)

Winterized means they don't lose extra effectiveness due to crappy weather conditions.
Winder specialization doubles their combat value

AlvaroSousa -> RE: winter/winterization (1/29/2022 5:36:40 PM)

The attack penalties still apply

boldairade -> RE: winter/winterization (1/29/2022 8:06:25 PM)

im sorry-what is the attack penalty?

i see the combat reduction-is that what you mean?

also, i use the manual on this site. is that outdated? people keep referring to page numbers on questions, but when i go to that page it isn't generally correct.

stjeand -> RE: winter/winterization (1/30/2022 11:01:46 AM)

Combat reductions...

In snow 35% that is an attack penalty...
Blizzard is 50%...

BUT if the unit has the winterization they get 100% attack bonus so...in Snow they attack better...in blizzard it is clear to them.

ok

so a winterized soviet unit that was 10 strength would have an attack value of what in snow? 13? And what in a blizzard. If you double it(20) but they half it (50%) that would put you back at 10??

Is that right?

stjeand -> RE: winter/winterization (1/30/2022 2:29:41 PM)

That is my understanding...which is what I was asking Al.

Blizzard is a break even.
Snow appears to be a bonus.

Personally I will say it again...COLD should be just like snow.

boldairade -> RE: winter/winterization (1/30/2022 5:12:12 PM)

The flip side is that while you gain nothing in a blizzard they lose 50% of their combat value right?

So if you were attacking a 16 strength in it it would be 8(before modifiers)?

The combat bonus for specialization should apply in Snow and Blizzard, so it should "go back" to 16 for Winterized specialized units.

AlvaroSousa -> RE: winter/winterization (1/30/2022 7:39:35 PM)

I'm pretty sure it does
