After combat resolution a Soviet unit retreated to hex 187,186 which is a sea hex. The unit can not be attacked in its current position.

Do you have saves for this (or if on the MP server, who is your opponent)? What hex was the combat in? What version were you using?

Here is what the attack looked like. Can't remember the result. When I tried to replicate the bug the result was a surrender and both units disappeared. I have two saves - one before the attack and one on the turn after. Both will be attached below.

Thanks, do you happen to have a save earlier after the German attack (say start of Soviet turn) so I can see the battle report? I can see the unit is out at sea, and if it happened right after the attack then it's clearly a bug in the retreat function. Unfortunately as you said it's not possible to recreate it so it is something rare.

I just run "before the attack" save, and 42nd rifle division went to the sea.

I checked again and the units attacked actually surrendered. The unit that is in the sea hex is a different one that seems to appear during the Soviet turn. I ran it and the unit appeared again. Looks like it can be replicated. Hope it doesn't mess up my campaign in any way.

When I proceeded to the next turn the unit disappeared. Could this be another case of the "teleportation bug"?

Unfortunately, it didn't repeat when I ran it. It does sound like an AI glitch similar to something I've seen before where the AI for no good reason moves a unit out to sea. It later corrects itself, IIRC, and moves it back to land. Unless we get one that repeats, I don't think we'll be able to fix it. At least it's only hurting the AI.
