@Salama: No doubt Italy's help made a difference, and the Italians were reckoned by Germans as good soldiers, officers generally a self-occupied bunch of aristocrats. With exceptions, ofcourse.
Condsidering Italy's capacity- military, industrially, economically, the whole war effort must have been a disappointment for Germany. Maybe blinded by their accomplishments in the thirties (e.g. aircraft design), it feels like Italy never really realized what, and how much, effort that was needed. Just my thought. They did a lot of work, but considering how big and developed country it is, it feels halfe-hearted. (Ofcourse, Germany's view of Italy as a "little brother" and not a full equal didn't help either)
