We've been close with those guys so many times lately that I think the streak will end soon. As for AF, I think its our turn to be dominant for awhile. 2 miserable decades was long enough.

1962-1965 U.S. Army artillery surveyor with 82nd Abn Div.
1970-1978 U.S. Army UH-1 helicopter crewchief. Most notable assignments were 1971-1972 with the 101st Abn Div in RVN and 1974-1976 with the 4th Cavelry in Scofield Barracks Hawaii. I didn't like the cavalry but the parades were impressive because this unit was active before the American Civil War and the number of battle streamers on the unit flag was huge, there must have been over 100 of them.

Well, bringing up my military career in the midst of this thread is like bragging about playing Double A minor league ball in a room full of major leaguers, but what the heck.

Don't feel bad about your service career, HFO. I was in the Air Force from 1969-1973 in Base Supply/Equipment Management. A lot of guys posting here were regular service in the combat arms. But we all made a contribution to our great nation.

Damned straight that! I remember when we were stuck in the desert in Sudan flying Rivet Joint against Kadhafi back in his reckless days. Miserable tents in 100 deg heat with blowing sand everywhere. The supply guys in Greece, and their detachment in Kartohm managing to spirit in several boxes of Porterhouses and several cases of beer! You talk about 4 star heros! We made damn sure we saved some meat and beer for the supply detachment! Heros ALWAYS for me...

mc3744 -> RE: Who was in the military?? (7/1/2004 12:00:56 PM)

Hey Master Chief,

I see you are also spending time on the forum. I guess that's why you are getting lazy in sending the UV turns [;)]

I have the feeling that next PBEM game we play won't be UV anymore [:D]
