- I have an OC-12 connection at work
- I can download the game to my SAN
- the SAN is fiber attached to our Dmark
- I can download it at gig speeds
- I can get the whole thing in 20 minutes and burn to a CD
- Less time downloading is GOOD for the internet
so release it before 5 for the sake of the global on-line community!
YOu may have GigaBit speed in your network, but I can damned sure guarantee Digital River/Matrix do not have it on their end. I'll be happy if I get 75-80K throughput on it (and I have a similar setup to yours). Just downloaded the entire VisualStudio .NET 2003 Suite, including July 2004 MSDN Library, total about 3.5 GB. Took two+ days! And that was Microsoft on the other end.
