In PBEM games, the computer still produces an enemy sigint report in the SAVE directory. Under FOW, I think this should change and not allow the enemy to know what information you have intercepted.

This seems pretty important...that is, the Japanese can read the allied sigint in PBEM. Anyone from matrix read this one?

Actually, it's rather funny [:D]

Follow the logic here:

Do you really think the Allied player is going to gain anything reading their own info about where their own stuff is when they already know where it is?

Do you really think the Japanese player is going to gain anything reading their own info about where their own stuff is when they already know where it is?

I think when you devote a few brain cells to it, you'll see just how silly this is. [;)]

Since this information is theoretically generated by interception of radio information, you had to use the radio in the first place to be able to have it intercepted which means you already know it.

As the combat replay can be run by either side, this information is not side specific.

Actually, its not all that silly, hehe. The thing is that now you know that the enemy knows it, too.

If you can see where the enemy thinks you are going to attack, and it is correct, then yes, there is potential to change your plans according to this info [:)] Even better - you could create a large scale attack on an island with a bunch of insignificant units, wait for the enemy signit to pick it up a few times and then youd have a pretty good idea where the enemy is going to concentrate his defenses. This allows you to attack elsewhere or attempt to take out his carriers, etc.

Of course, this is only a problem if you are playing against someone whom would cheat, so as long as you trust your opponent this is really not a problem at all.

Id really love to see individual turns where each player see's different info during the playback, such as in the combat mission series, as this is where you can get a lot of fun suprises you miss out on at the moment, but Im guessing that that wont happen until a rewrite some time in the distant future (heres hoping though) [:)]

I like reading the Sigint reports on my own units! Radio transmissions coming from San Francisco and stuff like that! LOL
