when will the boxed version be avaiable

where can i buy it

no i don't want to buy it here
DR appears to have problems
i don't want deal with

2ndACR -> RE: when and where (7/25/2004 9:31:12 PM)

Then you are outa luck. It is my understanding that DR will be the only way to get it.

rogueusmc -> RE: when and where (7/25/2004 9:31:33 PM)

I'm pretty sure DR is going to be the distributor for the boxed version as well.

Besides, the boxed version comes in a pretty box....that's the only thing the CD on demand doesn't have that the boxed version will....maybe a prettier label.

2ndACR -> RE: when and where (7/25/2004 9:34:09 PM)

Correct, the only way to get WITP is online, I remember them saying WITP will not be in stores.

me109k -> RE: when and where (7/25/2004 9:36:30 PM)

well im starting to feel like im geting ripped off

2ndACR -> RE: when and where (7/25/2004 9:40:20 PM)

Not really, and not sure what you mean by getting ripped off. Trust me the game is worth it. Hopefully Matrix will get the manual hooked up with Kinko's at a fair price (for those of us who want it). If you have high speed internet then download the game, avoids having to wait for the disk (which can be a nail biter).

me109k -> RE: when and where (7/25/2004 9:45:43 PM)

must be easy for you to say that
i dont have the game yet
ive sent them a check $82.98
ive transferd mone from my bank acount $79.98
ive been waiting
and waiting

i just wanted to play this game and have fun
how can i have fun
when all i got is is Zero
i feel like a fool

MadmanRick -> RE: when and where (7/25/2004 9:47:51 PM)

Me-109K,
I downloaded the game from DR on July 2, I had absolutely NO problems with the download, in fact I think it took all of 2 hours (or less). I can't say for sure how long it took, as I began the download and went to work. When I came home the game was on my PC. As far as the back-up disc goes, that took exactly 8 days, my back-up disc arrived on July 10th. The only reasons I could see for waiting are, #1 to have the game patched and #2 if you have only a dial-up connection. Barring those 2 reasons, I would say do the CD on demand.

me109k -> RE: when and where (7/25/2004 9:52:47 PM)

im one of the anicents with a dialup i just cant afford digital cable
probally take about 20-30hours to down load

i just got to get a cd

2ndACR -> RE: when and where (7/25/2004 9:57:59 PM)

Same procedure as DD, the CD on demand option should be checked automatically.
The DD with dial up will take 26 hrs at 46kbs. I just waited for my disk whick took exactly
9 days to get here and I ordered the day it was released. If you sent them a check,
I believe it will take 14 days until they ship the game to you, then 3-10 days for delivery.

Are you saying that you have spent 150.00 on this game? If so you need to contact
Matrix support.

TheHellPatrol -> RE: when and where (7/25/2004 10:16:41 PM)

Easier said than done...i DD'd Witp on July 1st and am still waiting for my CD. I have contacted Matrix support and that is what i would suggest for anyone who has waited as long as i have. I have an Audigy2 soundcard/CTD so i am waiting for the patch...BUT...if i had my CD[8|]...i'd have other options. DR has dropped the ball on this one[:-].

me109k -> RE: when and where (7/25/2004 10:27:27 PM)

well ive looked at the support page and things

DRs refund policy appears to be ALL SALES ARE FINAL

well i hope the next game matrix puts out doesn't end up like this

bravow01 -> RE: when and where (7/25/2004 11:04:06 PM)

andytimtim -> RE: when and where (7/25/2004 11:58:00 PM)

we've all been told about the game never being released into stores...but can we expect to see the game at places like amazon or gameplay?

I guess I'm at a loss understanding the problem. I don't know when you ordered it, but the CD arrives 10-14 days after your order. I feel your pain regarding dial up despite the fact that there are a few decent tools out there to get big downloads via dialup. It can be a pain. That said, once you get the game you'll be very pleased. Getting it with a box has always been a waste in my mind cause SOOO many companies over the years have wasted cash on these big cool boxes to have them tossed. Frankly, while I know its not the most environmentally sound, I wouldn't mind seeing games in DVD style cases from now on. Or something similar. Just MHO there...

Once you have the disk though Me109, you'll be grogging with the rest of us amigo. Rest assured!! [sm=party-smiley-012.gif]

me109k -> RE: when and where (7/26/2004 12:47:52 AM)

i ordered on 7/2/4

and i have zero

for people who already have the game its probaly hard to understand
that for those who are still waiting around for their stuff to show up

i guess im not good at complaing
and their doesnt seem to very many people with the same problem
im just being grumpy i have lots of questions but no answers

MadDawg -> RE: when and where (7/26/2004 12:57:08 AM)

Me109, where are you located? If you already have the serial number for installation maybe some kind sole from the forum whom is nearby you could send you a CD with the game on? It sounds like it may be a quicker option.

Banquet -> RE: when and where (7/26/2004 1:10:08 AM)

I downloaded with dialup. It took about 30 hours (with some forum surfing going on at times) but I got it +30hr after release. Even with dialup that's quicker than waiting for the post (so long as your not paying phone charges while online)

For your original question.. I'm sure I've read that there will be a 'proper' boxed version sometime nearer the end of the year. It probably won't be sold in the shops, but will be available for order. However, if you've ordered a cd on demand and not rec'd it yet u should get onto Matrix to see if they can help.

andytimtim -> RE: when and where (7/26/2004 5:03:56 PM)

i would download with my dial up but i have a family in the house and i cant stay on the net for 30 hours, my mum would freak out!!

You can resume the download. Either by resuming vie the store or by using a download manager that supports resuming. Like for example Getright (www.getright.com)

andytimtim -> RE: when and where (7/26/2004 5:08:02 PM)

thanks for the advice Marc, but ill just wait for my CD!! [;)]

Judgin from your knickname itīs hard for me to tell if you have allready emailed our suport regarding this?

I know we forwarded all of the incoming (support@matrixgames.com) complaints about non shipped / arrived CDs to Digital Rivers vendor support.
