HEY!! I just thought of something! If fbestos did what he does best, he could run all the test on this quiz and find out what answers ya needed to get the battleship ya wanted...just a thought.

mogami -> RE: Battleship Personality Quiz (8/26/2004 8:04:24 PM)

Hi, I don't think the idea is to get the BB you want but to find out what BB you are.

BB Gangut rules the waves.

Nikademus -> RE: Battleship Personality Quiz (8/26/2004 8:27:50 PM)

no, the Rio de Janerio rules the waves.

We laugh at your funny looking bow and spindly superstructure. [:'(]

mogami -> RE: Battleship Personality Quiz (8/26/2004 8:31:31 PM)

Hi, Rather then find out what answers are needed to fudge the BB results I'm interested in tracking how the BB do against one another in PBEM. I know only one of my opponenets so far.

BB Gangut versus BB King George V (Mogami versus RogueUSMC) began today. Huzzah!

Nikademus -> RE: Battleship Personality Quiz (8/26/2004 8:47:23 PM)

thats easy. my BB wins.....everytime. end of story [:'(]

thanks for posting this tankerace. Good catch.

I'm a Gangnut.

Must be that car parked out in the yard... Although that Plymouth Acclaim was my mothers, not my cousins. And she sold it to me for the trade in value...

Me too. Rapid fire with little power.

Hank and Cotton Hill would freak if they were picked as BBs that smell of "perfume."[:)]

Narrow urethra = 11 inch gun or smaller. [:D]

Williamb -> RE: Battleship Personality Quiz (8/27/2004 4:24:37 AM)

Ended up being a King George.

Guess that beats being Prizzy Eugine(Prinz Eugen)

Tankerace -> RE: Battleship Personality Quiz (8/27/2004 4:26:35 AM)

Prinz Eugen was an awsome dreadnought. 12X12 inch guns in triple turrets. Or do you mean the WW2 German CA, not the WWI Austrian dreadnought.

Williamb -> RE: Battleship Personality Quiz (8/27/2004 4:39:37 AM)

Was a joke making fun of the name not the ship

You're not from Louisianna. I'm a big fan of George Costanza. Reminds me of me alot. Scary but real.

Tiornu -> RE: Battleship Personality Quiz (8/27/2004 6:43:19 AM)

I think you Ganguts should stand tall and proud. The class carried what was probably the finest 12in gun of World War I, and while we can remember the Lovecraftian superstructures added by the Soviets, we should also remember that these ships began with extremely simple and elegant lines.
The armor scheme sucked, though.
Prinz Eugen and the other Tegetthoffs also carried an excellent 12in gun, but the mounts were awful. With their gappy armor scheme, their extreme topweight, their underwater vulnerability, their lack of speed, and (in Istvan's case) the shoddy workmanship, these rate as perhaps the worst WWI dreadnoughts. But weren't they pretty?

kaleun -> RE: Battleship Personality Quiz (8/27/2004 7:03:46 AM)

Richelieu. Hmmm I wanted to be a Yamato[:)]

DrewMatrix -> RE: Battleship Personality Quiz (8/27/2004 7:26:58 AM)

I showed this test to some friends. All are active duty in the US Army, Artillery branch. They call got "Yamato" as the answer. I think I know why. [:)]

Harald1050 -> RE: Battleship Personality Quiz (8/27/2004 10:06:58 AM)

Servus!

@Tiornu: yes they were pretty, but as you mentioned very vulnerable to torpedoes (loss of 50 % of the class). SMS Viribus Unitis (the flagship) here.

These were inspired by the Cuniberti's "Dante Alighieri" correct?

Tiornu -> RE: Battleship Personality Quiz (8/27/2004 12:46:20 PM)

As far as I can tell, Dante Alighieri inspired the Tegetthoffs in the sense that the KuK saw an Italian dreadnought as a threat to be countered. From a design standpoint, there's little relationship beyond the triple turrets. Alighieri herself was the product of Masdea more than Cuniberti, though Cuniberti may have had some input.
