Capitaine -> AI Replacement Bug (9/26/2004 9:08:50 PM)

Playing the Overlord scenario as the Allies, I had a German unit adjacent to me at the end of a turn that had 4 steps, 3 of which were casualties with timed replacement values of 7, 6, and 5 respectively. However, at the beginning of the next Allied turn, the unit only had ONE casualty! According to the rules, unless you get a timed replacement that same turn (step had a timed value of "1"), only one normal replacement can be gained in a turn and only one step could possibly be replaced in this case.

How is it that w/o timed replacements, this German unit was able to recoup TWO replacement steps in one turn? Neat trick; I wanna use it too! [:D]

Captaine,

Saw this yesterday in the Overlord scenario and reported it SSG. Very nifty trick by the sly Germans[;)]

Now that we are at it can either of u confirm this.

I played the german AI too, and was struck by the number of non timed replacements it used.

In the following 10 game turns, i followed the exact units i gave hits, well those i could , cuz of FoW, and it seemed the AI had unlimited non timed replacements. I dobble checked it by playing the german side. It supposedly has avaible 16 inf and 8 pz for the entire scn. It used that i know of and could see baring FoW, 45 inf and 22 Pz, replacements non timed.(u can see this by it may have 3 timed hits in like 5,6,7 turns ahead on it, but then next turn it have no timed or less timed hits aka have to have used regular replacements) Bug or feature? JSS u seen this too?

Kind Regards,

Rasmus

BTW, once this issue is isolated and fixed, I really think a patch should be issued ASAP with all fixes to date. This bug really screws up human vs. AI games such that I would have a hard time recommending the game to friends if they're going to be playing "against such odds" (also given the game's price), not to mention my own frustration of realizing all those German units taking losses in Caen but not having lasting damage may have been this bug all along. Talk about taking the wind out of your sails[8|][;)]. I agree, pretty much an exercise in frustration[:-].

Black Cat -> RE: AI Replacement Bug (9/28/2004 2:07:35 AM)

I was wondering why my US Paras couldn`t accomplish anything up North.....I`m putting this on hold awaiting the ( hopefully soon ) Patch.

Adam Parker -> Airborne Divisional Integrity? (9/28/2004 2:48:05 AM)

Should the 82nd AB, 101st AB and 6th AB receive divisional integrity on turn 1?

I'd have thought the US divisions be too scattered to be divisionally effective for at least the first 2-3 days and the British Para for at least the first.

Anyone else thought this?
