SITUATION REPORT: 1-15-43

Admiral Nagumo evidently fell on his sword and commited hari kari after reading about Allied warplans.

Seriously, Admiral Nagumo(Bison Frontier) is no longer able to continue due to his job requirements so this game will die an untimely death unless someone would like to take over for him. The Japanese are in pretty good shape....no CV losses and they have only lost 3 BBs vs 11 Allied BBs. Japan leads in scoring 22,000 to 14,000. If anyone is interested I will forward Nagumo's email address to you.

For all the fans out there of this PBEM aar, I am taking control of the Imperial forces by direction of His majesty.. any thoughts?

Since the game is well into 1943, may I suggest a robust strategic defense. The time for major Jap offensives is probably over. Not sure how strong your forces are, but make Allies pay for every mile they advance. Withdraw and save your forces where you can. My 2 cents.

freeboy -> RE: THEY WERE EXPENDABLE: Nagumo vs Spruance PBEM (2/18/2005 3:17:36 PM)

Well, I agree, no use trying to do much other than cut the ledo road.. and China ihas been completely ignored... so by direction of the war staff we are forming new battle directives designed to A> remove the Chinesses from the Yenan. Changsa Wohan line
B> Romeove the last vestiges of SRA defenses.. interept shiping to OZ...
C> SINK US CARRIERS
D> my illustruios predissecor has made great strides in the solomans, including taking PM... we are currently looking at how to deploy the amounts of troops in these areas, including the possible landing in OZ...

freeboy -> RE: THEY WERE EXPENDABLE: Nagumo vs Spruance PBEM (2/22/2005 1:35:45 AM)

Last turn was a disaster... 70 plus Betties dead to no hits and with my oponent using the super duper 250 plane cap.... time to "sir robin" and maybe get some lucky night hits

racndoc -> RE: THEY WERE EXPENDABLE: Nagumo vs Spruance PBEM (2/23/2005 7:46:45 AM)

Now that Freeboy has taken over for Admiral Nagumo we can catch up on this AAR.

SITUATION REPORT: Early January 1943

SWPAC COMMAND: BANDA SEA CAMPAIGN...AN OVERVIEW

SWPAC will begin its advance through the DEI to the Philippines by 1st crossing the Banda Sea. The Japanese have established strong bases at Kendari, Amboina, Bulla and Sansopor. The Allies will have to advance without the benefit of CV air support so they must island hop across the Banda Sea under land based fighter cover. SWPAC has spent the last 6 months carving airfields out of the inpenetrable, malaria ridden jungles of Tenimbar and Aru island and is now finally ready to stage its 1st amphibious assault of the war against Kai Island. Kai Island will then be built up into a size 5 airfield and used as a springboard along with Timor for the thrust into the DEI.

I hope to at least slow the expansion of the Allies Zone of control in this area... I am feeling a certain dread regarding the Gilberts

I really really have elcrappo... lots of 50 and 60 level pilots... everywhere
and the ships need air cover to succesfully engage the enemy..
so it looks like my forces in Solomans and NG are in a lousy situation.. ..at least they have some supplies...
I am attacking the left behind bases now in Indonisia and PI,SRA... and hopefully can snipe at the bad Allies as they roll forward... I don't even have Wake... AURGH[X(]

OK, I am going to at least kill some Chineese... and I may launch an assualt in India just for the fun of it, since I can probably get a temperary advantage there,.. maybe!

Nice screenshot freeboy. A picture conveys a thousand words. Lucky you can't manually conduct the battle or it'd be all transports suck, Nip war fleet celebrating.

Fortunately my colleague AdmSpruance is now initiating the offensive and the Nips have to basically defend.. passively or counter-attack is entirely up to you freeboy.

I hope this forum remains one of the hottest in Matrix as it was the past few months. Some other forums are so pathetic you actually wonder if its being played today or back in the 1940s.. [:-]

Keep up the good reporting neutral observers, my colleague and esteemed opponent freeboy. [&o]
