(Plus some things relating to my father's estate. I may actually be nearing the end of that <censored ... still censored ... yup, still more censoring> mess.)

It isn't that kind of mess. No one's contesting the will, no lawyers arguing legal cites or anything like that. My father just ... left a financial mess behind to go with the literal one. I don't want to clog up your AAR with details. Besides, I think I whined and bitched about it in my own AAR enough. You should be able to find the details in there if you're curious.

December 25th Imperial News

Presents for the Emperor.

Lt. General Matsui’s 5th Division simultaneously stormed the bases at Taiping and Georgetown. The coordinated attack bagged over 10,000 Indian prisoners. “This is my present to the Emporer” claimed Lt. General Matsui.

The scourge of Malaysia Cpt. Frelinghuysen, A.K.A. the Floating Dutchman, of SS KXVII was caught and sunk west of Khota Bharu. A routine supply convoy he attacked proved to be his undoing. Moral at the port of Saigon is at an all time high as the Dutchman had claimed many ships in the area.

Army air units operating in Malaysia claim to have sunk three cargo ships. The ships were running the Malacca Straits on their way to India.

The elite 65th Brigade lead by General Akashi captured the base at Cagayan. Over a dozen of the American “B-17” planes were captured at the base. Engineers examining the airplane believe it to be to heavy and complicated to be an operational threat.

Forces exchanged artillery bombardments again at Naga. Fighting has been light in the Philippines as units reposition for further fighting. This has all the atmosphere of the calm before the storm.

The landing at Rabaul remains pinned on the beaches. Commanders of the operation are digging in while the men recover under the cover of naval bombardment from light cruisers operating in the Solomons. The Southeast fleet also occupied the base at Lae.
