Ron Saueracker -> RE: Artwork from Platoonist (2/3/2005 8:13:50 AM)

I'm still a TA man myself. I really like the way the profiles change as the ships refit over the course of the war, and with the cam patterns added, there is just no comparison when it comes to overall "feel".

Subchaser -> RE: Artwork from Platoonist (2/3/2005 8:39:55 AM)

this is what I’m hoping to do, all refit changes will have separate profiles… so there probably will be that “feel”…

Wow...at the scale you are using your art talents will be put to the test. Are you planning on just using these profiles for detail screen, and TAs for combat screens?

Oliver Heindorf -> RE: Artwork from Platoonist (2/3/2005 9:26:59 AM)

These new ship sides are extremly good and beatiful. I like the details and the camo [:)] excellent work !!! [&o] maybe the flag should be removed ?

I don’t see the problem here, this is not so hard and doesn’t require any special skills. Scale is forgiving and let things go faster… one of the reasons I’ve abandoned 275:68 scale.

and yes.. these are only for detail screen...

Subchaser -> RE: Artwork from Platoonist (2/3/2005 9:38:52 AM)

Good idea… I’ll remove them.

Subchaser, maybe you contact Tankerace, it seems to me that he has the info about the warships you are looking for. maybe he can provide you with the info's, pics etc. and you paint them like you did. again, superb work.

Tankerace -> RE: Artwork from Platoonist (2/3/2005 8:43:18 PM)

Sounds good to me, I can do the combat art, and Sub the detail art.

Oh sub, what details are you looking for, I'd be glad to help.

Hehe, thanks Ron. I'm hoping to get as much done for this mod while I wait for Mike Wood to finish up his end of War Plan Orange, and then I have to get back in the nitty gritty of that again.

Tankerace -> RE: Artwork from Platoonist (2/3/2005 9:24:55 PM)

Not really a camo, but I figure some of the Brit ships need touching up. Here is the KGV, after deployment to the Pacific in 1944 with a sort of camo scheme, new radars, quad pom poms on the turrets, and catapult removed.

Im going to attempt to do one of Princ eof Wales, as she appeared on December 11, 1941 in a wierd blue and green camo.

Thanks Man. Hey your bar sounds awesome. Except for the no North American Football thing. It's the playoffs man c'mon![;)]

Actually, I'm a long time Saints fan. Bobby Hebert, and all those Canuck draft picks.[&o]

Then you, as I, understand the true meaning of pain.

Great artwork all around.I never thought I would ever see correct "camouflage measures" on the Allied ships, and the work being done on the Japanese ships make them look like they will sail right off the screen!..
Excellent work guys.................

to scale the flags you only have about 2x2 pixels cant get much detail with that side
I am puting in flags but only 1 color

Maybe I'm missing something...[:(] Cobra Aus. You are pumping out duplicate art at a feverish pace. TA has most of this done already. No offence, but it seems like a waste of your time. Anything we are missing which needs art guys?

Tankerace -> RE: Artwork from Platoonist (2/9/2005 4:08:16 AM)

I'm trying to balance in finishing up the new Japanese CAs in with the WPO stuff, should be done in a day or so.

Tankerace -> RE: Artwork from Platoonist (2/9/2005 4:13:16 AM)

Hey Cobra, what camo schemes are you using? I don't recognize half of those.

no offence taken its all under control
I'am working hand in hand with Don each day and it looks like there will be at least 5-6 sets of ship icons released when mod comes out so players have a lots to choose from. Don has a lot of requests for this to take place plus I have a number of happy campers who want a full set of the icons that I'am doing - Overkill - sure is but you can only use one at a time up to players which one. I think an installer (multi choice) will be created
1.standard matrix haze grey the ships that Don has created
2.TankerAce's icons normal
3.TankerAce's cameos (which are great and historical)
4.a shils only set (cameo)
5.My set
6.3d shils when done
you have at least 3 others working on aircraft so most likely will have a number sets released
and in answer to TankerAce I'am not following any particular scheme just using gradients
and patterns available in PSpro and Photoshop - not historic I know

If you can recognize half of them I should have been a painter duing the war - pure fluke

As most of us do not have a sen to test with here is a sample panel showing a random sample of cameo and how they might possibly show up on a battle screen background

finger lickin'
