I was still surprised they shipped without these working.... so, please, will they work or not?

Will the damn Ohka's work or not?

[:D]Really![;)]

I am not worrying about a restart for current PBEM games because I don't think the game mechanics will necessitate the Allied player needing the full duration of the game to finish. We see how easy it is for Japan to invest China, DEI etc, just wait until the Allies put the late 1942+ reinforcements into action. Japan will be done by mid 1944, EASY. Sad but true.

Tojo also shipped the Okhas without them working; don't think they ever hit anything.

Just because the thread title involves Ohkas and the first question involves Ohkas, what ever gave you the idea that the question should be answered? Matrix Forum etiquette demands that each thread be hijacked by the fifth post. In fact this thread is very proper and a model for how a thread should develop: it has been hijacked, personal insults have been cast about, someone has complained about bugs and Matrix's lack of attention to them, and a moderator has responded with one of five pre-scripted responses. All in all, a very good thread.

Hey Stepford, I'm a computer boob, but I'm guessing the problem with the restart is that they are not fixing a bug, but are implementing something akin to an OOB issue, which must be present on turn one to work. Whatever they're doing must affect the database in addition to the way the engine interacts with the database. If they could manage to work these changes in without requiring a restart, they would.

You're not a computer boob. The ones in Sunshine are computer boobs.

Har. Yes, I stare at Sunshine every night before I go to bed. Sigh. What a lovely lass.

Wasn't aware they didn't considering Mogami blew the crap out of one of my CVE's before the code even went gold and you guys bought it.

If someone is saying otherwise, perhaps a save of them failing would be of use [8|]

You guys are your own worst enemy at times.

Before everyone gets diverted, is there an answer to the original questions about Kams and Ohkas?

Probably not. It is on the list but bugs closer to home are being worked on first. First and formost being tested right now is this dreaded Leader bug that has been causing some small comotion from what i've seen [;)]

Depending on how well that and other bug fixes progress in the testing, it may be gotten too but i'd rather have people be pleasantly surpirsed than garner false expectations.

OK now this two posts seem to be contradicting each other; who do we believe, Frag who says that they work, or Nik who says that they don't?[;)]

Neither [:D]

Kid controls what gets in front of Mike. If Nik got a save in to Kid, I wasn't aware of it as I don't read Kid's email . Has anyone actually confirmed it is broken? Mike tends to fix things and not bother to mention it.

Nikademus -> RE: 1.5 Kams and Ohkas (1/7/2005 12:13:01 AM)

I have not had the opportunity to test Okha's and Kamakaze's extensively but they were reported as broken by Drongo. I dont recall seeing those reported issues as being fixed as of yet so I assume they are still not working completely. Now that i think of it, I believe the major issue with Kamakaze's and CAP has been fixed. Progress is being made. [;)]

Warspite** -> RE: 1.5 Kams and Ohkas (1/8/2005 5:09:22 PM)

The bugs I was refering to were one the Ohkas don't fire. I was told this had been verified when I reported it several months ago. Secondly Kamikazes will not attack CVs since 1.4. This has not been verified, but I sent two turns to be looked at, but received no word back. Lastly, Kamikazes will attack enemy bases in range. They don't hit anything, they just ram into the beach or something. Again, no verification from Matrix, but I sent in my turns.
