Bodhi -> Where've my Bolos gone? (5/7/2005 2:20:23 AM)

Loaded some B-18 Bolos (12th BG) onto an AK at Seattle. Set a destination and left them to it. Next turn moved loaded some more Bolos (B/C of 11th BG) onto 2 AKs at Pearl Habour, when checked the AK that departed Seattle it had stopped off at Vancouver and was loading supplies with the air group not listed as on board. [&:]

Checking the all land based airgroups correctly shows only the A part of the 11th still at P.H., but also the 12th without any base listed. Any idea where've they gone to? [Stock scen 15, v1.5, no computer control. Saves before end of every turn available]

I have had this exact thing happen, load at Seattle stop at Vancouver for supplies. However the group, although missing, was still on the AK's and unloaded at the destination. Now I am very careful to put "do not unload", load them and send them on their way only after fueling first the turn before ( no other ops pts used except for load).

Glad to hear I'm not alone. Reloaded the save before the turn resolution and ran it again, same thing happended.

I was planning on sending them on a long cruise. Maybe I'll put the AK into somewhere close and unload to see if they reappear. In the future, I don't think I'll try loading any airgroups from bases like Seattle with another base on the route to open ocean.

Checking the all land based airgroups correctly shows only the A part of the 11th still at P.H.

1. If you load an air group onto a transport, you will need to look at the "All naval based groups" listing. [It is not on land any more[:D]]

, but also the 12th without any base listed.

2. If you call up the "All land based groups" listing. Find the 12th group. Click on the group. Click on "Set group location".
You may now be where the group thinks it is, which if I am guessing correctly is the TF you loaded the group onto.
The "Transfer.." button should be active, so I suggest you try transferring them back to a land base.
For some reason, the group appears to have been assigned to the TF rather than a ship. Was the ship sunk/damaged/transferred to another TF/etc???

Well I know that, but they don't appear in that list at all, only in the land based list. That's why I posted that one. [;)]

Well that centres the map on Vancouver, the current location of the single ship TF, with the other buttons of the other TFs and LCUs at Vancouver displaying at the bottom, but neither the text info on Vancouver (name, port/airfield sizes, supplies/fuel etc.) nor the other Vancouver airgroup buttons!

Yes, it does seem possible to transfer them to another base, including Vancouver.

I also forgot to mention that in the details for the AK in question, the air group is not listed as being on board.

No/No/No.

Even though I'll probably be able to recover the group, the fact that it disappeared in the first place, and the AK decided to stop at Vancouver and load supplies, really do make me wonder at the robustness of the WitP code.
