cbpraem -> RE: OK be the second.... (7/3/2005 8:31:51 PM)

just downloading the game now - why not learn in multiplay :-)
If your game, id like to take Ottomans

jstransue -> RE: OK be the second.... (7/3/2005 10:25:56 PM)

I also just downloaded the game and would like to play if a newbie is acceptable.

I'll play one of the minors such as Sweden.

I look forward to it!

John

Hoplosternum -> RE: OK be the second.... (7/4/2005 12:11:40 AM)

If you are still looking for players and don't mind people learning on the go I'd like to play.

If it's 1805 Spain or Prussia. Otherwise no preference.

EDIT: Looks like Prussia has gone. Russia is fine for me too. Anyone except France really as I don't want to 'drive' the game in my first proper go.

Cyrano -> RE: OK be the second.... (7/4/2005 7:16:52 AM)

I BELIEVE I count eight :).

Who shall coordinate the first turn?

Waiting in my tent thinking belligerent thoughts,

kevyrec@sbcglobal.net = Britain

larizona55 -> RE: OK be the second.... (7/5/2005 6:11:02 AM)

Raleigh, please let us know you email address.

All, If I don't hear from him soon (say the next 24 hours), I will start off the game. I will take France (unless someone else wants to), and let Russia go AI.

Looks like we need to round robin the PBEM file in order...France, then England...etc.

Larry

Basilhare -> RE: OK be the second.... (7/5/2005 12:39:23 PM)

Larry,

If that is the case, then maybe we should move one of the minor countries, ie., Spain or Sweden to Russia??? Russia probably plays a fairly big role in this thing???

Thanks,
Faron.

Hoplosternum -> RE: OK be the second.... (7/5/2005 12:54:04 PM)

Yep [:)] I'll gladly swap Spain for Russia [:)]

Kimse123 -> RE: OK be the second.... (7/5/2005 3:55:04 PM)

if raleigh is out i can take spain [:)]
kimsandberg123@hotmail.com, also my messenger

larizona55 -> RE: OK be the second.... (7/5/2005 4:57:03 PM)

OK, I'll get it started then.

I did not hear from Raleigh or Cbpream so here are the countries in order.

France - larizona55 Larry (larizona55@yahoo.com)
Britain - Krec (kevyrec@sbcglobal.net)
Sweden - jstransue ( jstran93@yahoo.com)
Prussia - Cyrano Jim (thegasconaty@yahoo.com) I think thats it.
Austiria - Basilhare Faron (faronbell@cox.net)
Russia -hoplosternum hoplosternum@hotmail.com
Turkey - AI
Spain - kimsand (kimsandberg123@hotmail.com)

I am sending off turn one this morning to Krec. Five years, starting in 1805. Default winner.

I have not played this game PBEM yet, but it looks like Krec sends it to jstransue and then on down this order list.

If for some reason you need to drop out of the game, once we get going, please be kind and send me your password so I can find another player.

Please include my email (larizona55@yahoo.com) as a cc when you send your turns on. That way I can keep track of pacing.

OK all, good luck good hunting, and reamember we are all new to this game...

"Liberté, Egalité, Fraternity"

Larry

Ralegh -> RE: OK be the second.... (7/5/2005 6:04:19 PM)

I started the game and sent it on like I was supposed to.
Did I get overtaken by events? (Sob)

I had
Faron on Austria
Krec on Brit
Ralegh on France
Cyrano on Prussia
Cbpraem on Ottomans
larizona55 on Russia
Jstransue on Sweden
Hoplosternum on Spain

larizona55 -> RE: OK be the second.... (7/5/2005 6:14:28 PM)

Just under the wire raleigh.......[:)] I sent a move off to Krec already, but ill tell him to ignore...

I did not hear from Cbpraem for Turkey, so would kimsand like to take it?

OK back to Russia for me...

It does not look like there is a password. Is this right? If so, it makes it easier for us to replace someone if they fall out of the game.

Larry

Who knows [&:] I shall see whether the turn appears with me as Spain or Russia and be happy to play either [:)]

I think we should stick to the original set up. People cannot be expected to look at the thread everyday over the length of the game. But I shall see what I get!

Ralegh -> RE: OK be the second.... (7/5/2005 6:36:20 PM)

each player can (and should) set their own password in the set policy screen. Otherwise, someone could open a save file as them and see everything!

Ralegh -> RE: OK be the second.... (7/5/2005 6:37:58 PM)

Hmmm - we should recruit someone who wont ever take a place in the game to be the holder of the passwords... A vault.

Kimse123 -> RE: OK be the second.... (7/5/2005 6:51:36 PM)

Turkey is fine with me[:)]

I had this idea, of a page on a website were each country had 3 radiobuttons, one for vacant one for recieved turn and one for send turn to the next on the list. that way we will always be able to see where the turn is. Each country should be accompanied by the respective mailadress ofcourse. Then you had to go update the site when you send or recieve a turn. maybe it could be made in flash so the buttons automatically reset to vacant when the next person on the list marked his turn as recieved.

In office environments this is called milestones in tracking the progress of a case.

Just a thought

Kimse123 -> RE: OK be the second.... (7/5/2005 6:56:07 PM)

Another thought. What if the game crashes when you are about to do your turn??

P.S. Nice Guides by the way Raleigh very helpfull

jstransue -> RE: OK be the second.... (7/5/2005 7:59:41 PM)

Sounds good! Look forward to playing with you all. The Mighty Swedes shall be victorious!
