I have tried hard to have this happen but lets say I have Austria surrender and cede Tyrol to me. Does that allow the creation of the Kingdom of Bavaria or do I have to liberate it and hope i can outbid everybody else to have it become a protectorate and then it will be part of Bavaria? Same for Poland. I ended up with it all conquored or ceded to me in one game but no Polish troops. How do you know if a new kingdom is really created? Historically Napoleon usually siezed a territory and ceded it to a smaller nation to turn it into a kingdom, he did not have to outbid other nations for it. Small note is that for the French they historically did not need Sicily to create the Kingdom of Naples. Sicily remained as a seperate Kingdom allied to England and the rest of S. Italy became the Kingdom of Naples. I do think there should be a ceremony page or some type of physical outline (thin white border trim on the new kingdom) or something on showing the creating of small kingdoms. would be more fun. Tim

You can sort of pretend they're there, but currently you can't unattach and re-attach provinces from each other, nor can you currently rename minor countries. quote: How do you know if a new kingdom is really created? You can't create new kingdoms. You can conquer all the minor countries in a region, as explained in the Regional Bonus Units in the Appendix--this will give you more troops in your spring levy. That's the most we could do to duplicate Napoleon's kingdoms. We agree it would be fun if we could ever figure out a way to do it.

They can't just be conquered -- they've got to be protectorates. There's a problem with Tyrolia because it can't be made into a protectorate in any way. This is on my list of bugs to fix...it should work if Tyrolia is conquered by the same player who has Bavaria as a protectorate. We'd also like to slap down some sort of graphical overlay on the map when a region is operational... even a name would be nice, but we had talked about doing an additional border around the whole thing.

would it be possible modify the program to make it possible to conquor a territory like the Tyrol and then make it a protectorate? this would allow the new owners to "create" either by politics or force these new minor nations. Tim
