The scenario editor manual states

quote:

ORIGINAL: WITP Editor Manual

Japanese HQ’s must be located in slots 1-98.
Allied HQ’s must be located in slots 100-215.
Bases must be located in slots 217-900. Do not move any
Base to a different slot as some parts of the game program
assume these bases are in their current slots.
Japanese ground units must be located in slots 979-1999.
Slots 1940-1979 must be left open as these are the slots
used by Japanese Militia ground units that are automatically
mobilised in 1945.
Slots 1980-1983 must be left open as these are the slots
used by Japanese North Vietnamese militia units that are
mobilized each time (up to a maximum of four) an Allied unit
moves into a border hex inside North Vietnam (from China to
Hue).
Allied ground units must be located in slots 2120-3499.
Japanese TO&E’s must be located in slots 901-977.
Allied TO&E’s must be located in slots 2001-2119.
Japanese TF’s must be located in slots 3500-3899.
Allied TF’s must be located in slots 3900-3999.

However it seems that Japanese LCUs are in slots 968 onwards.

Can a database guru please confirm this, and also that the other assignments mentioned in the manual are correct. Thanks.

IIRC:

quote:

Japanese ground units must be located in slots 979-1999.

The range is 967-1999.

quote:

Japanese TO&E’s must be located in slots 901-977.

The range is 901-966.

And the TF range actually gets used as LCU split slots while game is running.

Thanks Michael. I've changed it and most of my missing LCUs have reappeared. [:D]

Also had to change the location suffix 79 from the "Naval Garrison Unit" quoted in WitPTabs.csv to "Naval Guard Unit" ("Nav Gd") as used by WitP to get the rest.

So does the last part mean the Allies are limited to 99 split units (3999-3900) minus the number of TF set up at start?

The total number of "splits" is 500 (slots 3500-3999). As with air groups, slots can be used by either side. [Fragments go into slots 4000-6999.]

The number of initial TFs has no impact on the number of split slots available, not like air groups where "split" slots could be allocated in the scenario setup.
