I only lied because I have two pbems running at similar times in the war, and didn't want my opponents to know which game I was talking about - I was contemplating giving him a surprise at PM by landing a division there (recon from Lae has been heavy). I wasn't sure if I could defeat him or not, so I didn't want to have anyone get cold feet if they knew their intentions were now public,.

When in doubt (as the allies), wait. Better to take a month or 2 longer to win, than give the other guy a bunch of free points.
