GH is solve his connection problems and we are now continuing AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 06/27/42 RUSSIA Another bombardment with two BB task force and again bad results,GH probably pull out rear troops but i score no hit to AF and port. However i will continue to bombard. Operation "Horse jump" going well and second portion of SAA is disembark in Port Arthur. These units now march to Harbin for final attack on Vladivostok. I count my forces in Russia which are going to offensive,i will have 1 250 000 men. That will crush Russia and ensure huge amount of VP for me. My generals gain orders to develop plan for invasion on Petropavlovsk,this invasion gain priority because from Petropavlovsk i will control Kurilies. Troops start to gather in Tokyo for that push. GH continue to bombard Mutankiang with hundreds of bombers with low use,he cannot achieve any good result. CHINA Status quo continue,he cant lunch offensive and i take defensive posture till Russia offensive is finished. Transports going to Canton to pick units for invasion on Petropavlovsk. BURMA Again status quo,two brigades soon will arrive in Rahaeng to seal the front. I dont plan any major offensive here. JAPAN KB is almost repaired,all CVs is on 0 damage except Akagi which is on 13 sys. Soon,my carriers will stroll again in Pacific. Zeros from KB are on 80+ exp except Kaga-92exp. Training program is going well and land based zeros is about 75-85 exp. I am slightly raise armament production. Taiho is accelerated and i will get she a lot earlier.

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 06/28/42 RUSSIA Battleship fleet lead by rear admiral Tanaka whose flag is on the battleship Yamato leave Seikoshin to another bombardment run[;)]. Allied subs intercept this TF but 18 DDs in escort quickly disperse these menace. SS Grampus is hit with two depth charges and probably will sink tommorow. While battleships is on route i decide to bombard Vladivostok with 300 bombers. First came zeros to sweep the sky but no allied fighter reported,the sallys bombard AF,AF is closed with 100 damage[8D]. BB will came tommorow in visit.[;)]. Troops are marching to Harbin and soon Russia will be ours. General Yamashita develops plan to encircle Vladivostok and destroy troops there,Russians has approx. 300000 men here are sentence to death[;)]. CHINA I run a little test here. I decide to sweep Wuchov from Canton with zero daitai at exp. 68 and again sweep from Nanchang with zeros at exp. 82. Group with less experience from Canton destroys 7 I-16c and lost 3 zeros. Group from Nanchang destroys 9 I-16c and lost 1 zero in procces. These I-16c are good for my tests[:D][:D] SUMATRA Airfield at Sabang is big enough for my Bettys now and cargo ships approaching the port. Tomorrow 27 Bettys will stationed there along with zero daitai to prevent shiping in Bengal bay. Sumatra is also main training ground,hundreds aircraft train daily here and bombard villiges to gain experience[:D]. JAPAN With this numbers CV Taiho will come in may 1943 but i am not sure yet. Musashi is scheduled to come in 4 months.

They dont have many chances left because Vladivostok is soon to be conquered[;)]. First troops of SAA is 60 miles north of Mutankiang. Soon,battle will occur,i cant wait[8D]. 300 bombers pay a visit to Vladivostok and ruin(again) airfield. All other fronts are quiet and only interesting thing is training program[8\|]. AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 07/02/42 RUSSIA Operation "Horse jump" is underway! Troops of SAA is still approaching attack positions north of Vladivostok but order for attack is gained. 20 divisions of Kwantung area will move east to destroy Russian position NE of Vladivostok,enemy has 22 units here according to recon. Other troops(8 divisions) will enter Vladivostok. Idea is to encircle and destroy units at Vladivostok and Nahodka,maybe 300000 troops and move inland to Russia. Russia invasion timeline is till the end of year,after that all units will move and crush China. Invasion fleet for Petropavlovsk leave Canton. With Petropavlovsk i will have good position for defending Kurilies. Today,regular BB bombardment of Vladivostok occur with mediocre succes. aren't you worried about being exposed in pacific ? in Pauk's game allied were aggressive in gilberts area and it will seriously hurt perimeter delaying ability Taking Russia is good ot even very good solution - the only one which I find of similar usefulness is east india grabbing I'm slightly surprised allied did not start strategic bombing of home island - you can defend everything there and at this moment Japan's supply situation is worst until deep '44

I have also 2nd division and SSD in SW pacific. Also 9 carriers with elite pilots will stop any invasion there. Only real weak point is Marshalls,but if i loose Marshalls there is only few points for allies,so no big problem. With Russia i have new oil and resource centers along with huge amount of VPs. With Russia in my hands i can throw all Kwantung area army on China. Okha base has plenty of oil and it will be safe long after DEI is treatened.

RUSSIA Operation "Horse jump" Troops of Kwantung area army continue marching to NE of Vladivostok,in 5-7 days my brave soldiers will attack this Russian stronghold. Sauthern area army gathering north of Vladivostok and soon they will be ready to enter the town. This attack will occur when Kwantung troops reach allied position NE. Last part of Kwantung area army (3 divisions and support units) waiting W of Vladivostok. These units will enter town along with units of SAA. I cant wait!![;)] Operation "Devil" 100 transport ships is arround Kagoshima,after they reach Tokyo these ships will randesvous with cargo ships which carrying supplys and KB. Then-direction Petropavlovsk! Operation "Phantom" Large scale air operation in Russia. Almost all Sally/Lilly sentai is assign to this operation. Escort will provide 300 zeros gathering in Japan. Destruction of Russia will soon begin! Wow, I don't use my CV aircraft much at all. I tend to hord them. I like the idea of a fully trained KB "somewhere". It tends to give the Allied player ulcers.[:D]

GAME DATE 15.07.1942 I will post screens from all fronts: BURMA Because all my troops involved in Russia i must defend Burma with everything i have at hand. I establish three defence perimeters in Burma,A,B,C. Defence perimeter "A" is in Pinasoluke,south of Rahaeng across the river. This perimeter will be hold by 15 army HQ which have overal command of all Burma area, Troops in defence perimeter "A": -15 army HQ -33th div. -55th div. -support units Defence perimeter "B" is Bangkok and has two bde,tank regiment. Main AF for Burma defence area is also Bangkok. Troops in defence perimeter "B". -35th bde -56th bde -1st tank regiment -support units Air units is composed by two zero daitai,two oscar sentai and 100 Sallys along with recons,all air units is close to 90 exp. Defence perimeter "C" is Malaya and has two mixed bde stationed in Singapore. Singapore is also training ground for my pilots so i can in every time dispatch 500 fighters to front. Troops of defence perimeter "C": -21st mixed bde -23rd mixed bde -support units Air units consist of some 1000 aircrafts scattered in Singapore,Palembang and Sabang. Overall situation is not good in Burma but i will be able to hold the line before reinforcements come. 33rd division is in need of refitting so i must somehow relieve this division and sent these mens to Singapore for rest,probably i will use reserve,21st mixed bde,while this division resting in Singapore. Thank god for Jawa,GH lost so many troops in Jawa so now he cant lunch any offensive here. He bombarding my divisions which retreating from Moulmein with bombers from Rangoon,i set up ambush and destroy some bombers but main thing is that bombardment is now stopped. RUSSIA I sent 400000 troops to attack his poerimeter NE of Vladivostok,that is 1/3 of my forces involved operation "Horse jump",but i gain 0-1 ratio against 150000 Russians,TERRIBLE. Now i am sending reinforcements,aditional 500000 troops,if that is not enough i will lost the entire war,that will be end. Operation "Devil" is going well and tranports aproachinh Petropavlovsk,5 more days. Overall situation is far from good,but i am still confident that 1250000 troops can destroy 300000 troops,i need victory here and i need it fast.

GAME DATE IS 21.07.1942 RUSSIA Time has finally come,gen. Yamashita sent 100000 men in Vladivostok to hold some 120000 Russians. Other 700000 troops is NE of Vladivostok to confront 150000 Russians. In two days i will try to shock attack with combined forces of Kwantung area army and SAA(700000 troops). Plan is to encircle and destroy enemy troops in Vladivostok and Nahodka. Operation "Horse jump" rolling again. Strategic reserve is 300000 troops stationed north of Vladivostok. Operation "Devil" is complete with succes and Petropavlovs is liberated. Petropavlovsk will be turn to huge base for our north front. After succesfull supporting invasion forces involved in operation "Devil" KB will sail south to Kwaielien. Akagi is full repaired from damage in Jawa campaign and she will sail to Kwaielien also. KB has zero damage and full strenght with elite pilots. BURMA We are continue to move to reserve position. Danger is spotted on left flank of 33rd and 55th division,GH is trying to flank and isolate these divisions. Two brigades is sent to Rahaeng to defend retreat path. Two mix bde are sent to Bangkok to secure our position there. Bettys from Sabang start to fly at last and sink to allied MLs in Andamans. JAPAN Whole Sally sentais is in Japan,resting and reffiting,soon these aircrafts will be ready to strike.

RUSSIA SITUATION I am ready to deliver final strike at Russian forces defending valley NE of Vladivostok,600000 troops has their orders to deliberate and push Russians. 100000 Japanese troops is at Vladivostok in order to hold position while main army conquering valley. Supply situation is more than good because i manage to supply units from Japan via Porth Arthur. Next few days will be crucial for entire war. Everything now depends on Army group south and their part in operation "Horse jump"

Good luck hawker....I've been keeping an eye on your game for awhile now. I'm in a PBEM in Sept '42 but attacked and conquered Russia between January and March. Stick with it and you should take 'em down! [8D]

AFTER ACTION REPORTS FOR 07/25/42 RUSSIA I cannot believe my eyes when i see battle outcome in valey NE of Vladivostok,600000 Japanese troops against 150000 Russians. I order to deliberate and gain only 0-1. See for yourself, -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ground combat at 66,32 Japanese Deliberate attack Attacking force 565215 troops, 5452 guns, 1202 vehicles Defending force 145006 troops, 1793 guns, 311 vehicles Japanese assault odds: 0 to 1 Japanese ground losses: 20838 casualties reported Guns lost 642 Vehicles lost 96 Allied ground losses: 1977 casualties reported Guns lost 154 Vehicles lost 3 -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Disaster,my troops are well supplied,well commanded,rest. Elite units of SAA is here along with Kwantung area army and they cannot push few Russians. Its all lost now,battle for Russia is lost. Operation "Horse jump" is discarded. I have reserve units,about 300000,but i will not sent them to lost cause,units of sauthern are army is ordered to withdraw towards Harbin and from there to Porth Arthur where ships is waiting to take them to other areas. One milion men is not enough,i cant believe what i see,it is impossible that 150000 green soldiers stop elite 600000 soldiers in open country and with 0-1 odds. War is lost now,i will try to hold as long i can. I have supply routes to islands intact but he can destroy industry in Japan from Russia with ease,when he do that it will be all over. I sent in Russia 1250000 troops,1500 aircrafts i have ngaged in Russia,all that for 0-1 against few Russians. Events talks like thousand words. Dark clouds shadows the empire,i will try to stand and fight but defeat is now inevitable. As long as i have indusry and production running i will not surender. I am not arguing and crying when half of 38th division sudenly disapeared like ghosts,when several of my SNLF units disapperared,but i will hardly except that 600000 men is only enough for 0-1 against 150000 men. Like gen. Sosabovski say in "A bridge to far": People told me i am clever,and for smart people silence is better" Anyway,war goes on.

If you don't do this, your SAA troops will stop enemy advance in SRA perhaps, but you will lost all industry and oil (resources) in the Home islands when GH start strategic bombing. It doesn't matter if you lost war in 1942 or 1943.... Bombard Soviets from air...that should help...

If you don't do this, your SAA troops will stop enemy advance in SRA perhaps, but you will lost all industry and oil (resources) in the Home islands when GH start strategic bombing. It doesn't matter if you lost war in 1942 or 1943.... Bombard Soviets from air...that should help... I drop a zilion bombs so far in Russia,from both naval and air with no succes noted. 300000 units is strategic resrve,i must send 50000 in Vladivostok to hold the front,so i can detach some 150000 in valey,that is not enough because troops in valey has big losses and disruption. I must keep some way out from the valey. Bombers now must fly from Japan at extended range,and i consider to stop bomber runs,BB fleet desperately need repairs and refits after months at sea. P.S. Where is he getting his supplies? The Russians don't have infinite supply and you've cut off air reinforcements from the US.....sooner or later he'd have to be starving for supplies, and you'd have the advantage?

But i must also feed my huge army,so far i drop 300k supply at Porth Arthur and supply ships keep coming from Japan. I dont know from where he pulls supplies,but he has lot of them. He bombards me every day with hundreds of bombers. With Petropavlovsk gone he is not able to pull AC from US,but this is minor thing,if i plan to stay in Russia i must gather 300k supplys per month according to my calculations to support huge army and for the repairs. I know that i must destroy Russia asap but if i stay this will be looong war and i just cannot provide resources for that

Are they Soviets near Vladivostok on open field or in the hills or woods perhaps? That could explain your losses (In my game against Andy i had 6000 AP and couldn't defeat Chinese in the wood hex), plus they have fortified probably... My suggestion is that you simply don't have enough forces for Vlad and hex outside - so you will have to gamble and put all on the one card - beat the Soviets outside Vlad. What do you have to loose even if GH force to retreat your units from Vlad? If you gonna die, die with battle cry Banzai! PS... what about Petropavlovsk? Did you capture it? If the answer is yes, you may grab these units and send them to Russia too.

Petropavlovsk is mine but troops there need to recuperate,i just dont have enough troops. I desperately stroll thru map to find additional units,all i have is 2nd division currently in Rabaul and SSD based at Lunga. These units cannot be moved! I can manage to gather few naval guards and SNLF units for Russia,but that will be not enough. Maybe let units in valey to recuperate and then order shock attack,i dont know. P.S. Dont worry,if we must die,we will die with Banzai on our lips[;)]

OMG!!!!This is great! 1. Don't listen to Pauk or yourself, for that matter, and cry banzai. Banzai is for woosies afraid to live and fight another day. It's good to know you command such troops but it doesn't mean you have to kill them the first chance you get. 2. If I were you, I'd consider this the best thing that could have happened to me. Why? Well, let see... -you're still in '42 and have an enemy eager to fight (a rarity many of us would give much to enjoy) -you lost a big batlle and are demoralised and more so you're opponent must be aware of that. MAKE him aware of that and he'll become complacent. Use it while it lasts. Make him see you are stopping the attack and turning defensive. Most people counterattack instictively and that's not a good thing agains an enemy that has just been scratched on the surface. -Malaya situation is great - you have an enemy that will soon overextend his supply. All you have to do is take teh KB some BMF divisions and land in East Pakistan. You'll cut off a great deal of british forces and open the doors to India. He won't be expecting that. -in Russia just hold the line and keep Vladi cut off. A few weeks bombing will reduce the supply to 0 and you'll have it on the plate. Just beware any relief efforts from north. If they should come, muster what you can and strike at Blagoveshchenk (of whatever its name, I'll never learn). In Manchukuo just hide behind the forts and make him bleed if he wants to go forward. -keep Oscars and Nates in Russia, they can at least hold their own agains the Russian types, and the western aircraft will swith to India/Burma/Malaya as soon as you threaten it. In '43 you get OscarII, a great plane for the Russian theatre. No really, I'm not kidding[;)]
