Interesting issues here. I have played mainlly as japan but recently have started two games as allied. My views, for what they are worth are as follows: 1. Japan PPs I use to 'pay the political costs' of moving stuff from Manchuria to China or anywhere else as I reckon that these troops would not have bvbeen easy to relocate given commitments... however there can come a time in the game where perhaps China is more or less finished, and then it seems a shame to have to only move units out as you amasss PPs - and that takes a long time. I also feel that it is justifiable in requiring payment to 'convert' home forces to take them overseas as this would have been a very dodgy approach in real life. Other stuff I shift around as I want to, apart from anything else there is enough micromanagement to do with all the economic (zzzzz) stuff. As far as I'm aware you can shift stuff overland from China to Burma and further, its just the shipping you are not allowed to do.... but from a philosophical point of view i'd see that as being gamey. 2. The furthest I've got so far with the Allied side is just into Jan 1942. The PPs issue is a real pain, but does seem to me to apply a mechanism for the paralysis of decision making and shock that hit the allies when war broke out. Further down the line I don't know how pps affect the allies, but I think its an interesting debate. Along with other suggestions, were it possible to enfore the need for 'proper' C&C throughout the game it would slow the pace down even more - perhaps making it more realistic, but also perhaps making it less 'fun' to play. Just my twopennorth..... Cheers Roger Interesting, in the above I'd transposed the ft in shift and the forum went and put me a load of **** in.... I wonder if anyone has ever tried to find out how many words might become ******** in a post. BTW this is what you end up with when you've had a load of moves to make, sent them all offf and it seems like hours and hours and no replies!
