Imp. Japanese ARMY "Special ship(Landing craft carrier and also aircraft launcher)" Shinshu maru.
She also had other names: Ryujyo Maru, GL, MT, Tosa Maru

Completed Year : 1935
Displacement : 7,100 ton
Dimensions: 156 x 19 m
Speed (max) : 19 knots
Engine : Turbine Engine 8,000PS
Armaments : Type 88 75mm AA Gun x 4, 20mm AA Machine Cannon x 4
Loading Capacity : 4 AB-Tei(Armoured craft), 29 Daihatsu, 25 Shohatsu, 2,200 troops
Crews : 220 men

Shinshu Maru was also designed to load airplanes as well as landing craft and it was equipped with two catapults. The airplanes taking off the ship were planned to land on a captured airfield. However, catapults were removed after the ship was finished and it had never loaded any airplanes during its service.
She was used for the landing operations in China and the landing on Malaya and Java of the Pacific War. It was sunk in Mar. 1942 by friend torpedo, then was rised and sunk by USN again in Jan 3, 1945.

Reg -> RE: Looking for another planeside... (12/22/2006 3:03:41 PM)

I got tired of the rather poor Beaufort VIII in the stock aircraft sides so I put this together. Thought you guys might like to use it as well.

It's in GIF format so Just open it in your favorite graphics editor and save it as as a bmp file (or just cut 'n paste into your A_Planeside.bmp file).

Look at page 17 this thread for a classic side, art made by Halsey

jcjordan -> RE: Requests For Artwork. (1/6/2007 2:36:55 AM)

Thank Terminus & Likendeeler, I think Halseys was close to what I had but got both, it may have been an old Subchaser art file I had but didn't see it around here [:(].

Terminus -> RE: Requests For Artwork. (1/6/2007 3:07:29 AM)

Don't think SC ever did a Kikka...

jcjordan -> RE: Requests For Artwork. (1/10/2007 1:28:10 AM)

You may be right as I did forget exactly where I got it from other than here & may just be thinking of some other art I got from him before his hiatus.
