Just wondering if the max resolution will be 1024x768? I am guessing it is!

That is correct, although it can be run windowed.

Currently, I have just been using a regular (nuttin special) 19" NEC CRT monitor. But now that I will have 3 of these games, I was thinking about getting something larger in LCD flat. like a 20".

My main concern, from listening to others, is that the 20" flat will probably have a native resolution of 1600 X 1200, so if you run Witp/WPO/UV the screen resolution will be stretched somewhat from 1024 x 768.

If any of you guys have one of these monitors, (20" LCD flat, native 1600 X 1200), I would like to hear from you on how these games look with that kind of monitor.

Thanks,

Stwa

It looks just fine on my 21" LCD running at 1600x1200.

When you buy an LCD make sure it has a good interpolation and that you can set it to various means of interpolation, most importantly that it keep s the aspect ratio while interpolating and not just simply stretches.

Most newer LCDs don´t have the problems anymore that LCDs or TFTs had bout 3 to 4 years ago.

It`s very well worth it to spend the extra 200$ a brand LCD costs. Considering that the monitor is the interface between you and your computer I´m sometimes amazed that a lot of people still have their 10year old 15" CRTs that run at 65hz and when they buy new ones they get the cheapest around [;)]

although it can be run windowed.

Oh man, that is great. that makes it easier than alt-tabbing out of the game to check something.

Witp Can be run windowed, from the 1.5 patch notes:

quote:

Clarification:

To use the new, larger font:
1) Create a shortcut from the EXE (right-click on it then drag & drop it).
2) Right-Click on the new shortcut and choose properties.
3) Add space then -altFont to the far right of the “War in the Pacific.exe" on the Target line, such as “C:\Matrix\War in the Pacific.exe -altFont"

Don't forget the other switches. If you want, add another space then tack one of these 6 on
-ww -wd -dw -dd -colorBlind –deepColor (windowed weekly autosave, windowed daily autosave, full screen weekly, full screen daily, use white text for most common text and initialize game in 32 bit color), such as “C:\Games\War in the Pacific.exe -dd -colorBlind".

I use -wd for windowed, daily autosave.

Well, what do you know, I learn something new every day. [:)]

Maybe I ought to read the 'readme', instead of just speed patching up to 1.6.

Thanks for the heads up.[&o]

Anytime. Don't feel bad, I learned it long after 1.5 myself [;)]
