Trouble juggling all the GF Units?

I myself am good, but "the product" release is supposed to be this week and I still have one piece of software I still cant make work. Darned Runge Kutta 4/5 adaptive step size integrators. Who really wants one of these things anyway?

You can probably sell it to somebody if you come up with a snappier name...

Sounds like something that goes with the Plutonium Q-38 space modulators... maybe Mynok needs some.

We wanted to use the XQ-36 Space Modulator, but it was already taken.

And in the beginning there was page one and then came page two, and then...well you get the picture.

And the page was full of much great knowlede...well maybe not great, but it did contain some knowledge and factoids, yes, yes there were factoids...well not so much knowledge as information about things and stuff and trivia, there was definitely trivia...and pictures of nuns and ugly naked dogs...so,

And the page was full and this was good and then came page two...

Any of you gameheads bought Forge of Freedom yet? I bought Crown of Glory, but was disappointed in the PBEM play method. Round robin sucks for multi-player.

Gameplay was quite fun, however. With a strictly two-person strategic scenario like the ACW, it might work. Would be very curious to get feedback. The forums seem to boil down to: it's a little lacking in action because offense is so difficult........which sounds kinda realistic for the period actually.

Good afternoon Niceguy.

Mynok, I asked a similar question in the FOF forum. Most of the feedback has been very positive, though I understand it can be a little tricky to learn. How hard can it be compared with WitP?

I'm just not sold on a strategic level game about the ACW. In my experience they are poor. To get much excitement you either need a scenario like COG where diplomacy is a key feature, or it needs to be a tactical level game about out manuvering your opponent in battles. I'm just not sure strategy was really an over-arching concern in that war, as Grant well proved.

Finished prepping for exam tomorrow and went to see Casino Royale at my local cinema. Fine piece of moviemaking, that...

Haven't bought it, no... I'm still quite familiar with it, though, as my sig will testify... Good game, but the learning curve is a little steep for some...

I saw your thread after posting here. Read through it and it sounds pretty good. I hear exactly where you're coming from on the strategic vs tactical issue. COG had a pretty fun tactical battle option, however, and apparently FOF has one too.

I've always loved the strategic element of the ACW much more. That was where the critical decisions were made that determined the outcome of the war. Victory Games' old board game was the best by far I have ever played on the subject--tactical or strategic. It still defines the standard IMO.

Well, I'm off to face the firing squad in my first oral exam. It's apparently Bring-Your-Own-Blindfold-Day... Damn budget cuts!
