Must be nice. Last night neither of my opponents saw fit to send me a turn. I ended up going to bed early. What's up with that??

Lack of turns builds character. Going to bed early builds character. It's good for you...

Are you "Dad" from Calvin&Hobbes?

I was wondering when someone would catch that one...

you're gonna have to use a new avatar...

...not to mention the um..."difficulties" performing my other husbandly duties due to not being able to assume a push up position.

Geez, you're from NJ. Think outside the box. There are other positions......

I am sure that there are but that would require her to be awake at the time.

Favorite Dad line was when Calvin asks how they determine a weight limit for bridges and Dad tell him that they drive heavier and heavier trucks over the bridge until it collapses then rebuild it with that as the weight limit.

I have this one stored in memory for when my son asks this same question.

Wow, I can tie this into my little jaunt to Kosovo. Part of my section had an M88 recovery vehicle (a 56 ton tracked monster that was used to tow other tracked vehicles). The Army engineers rebuilt many bridges and the test was to drive our monster over it. You should have seen the looks on the crew as they drove over those bridges.

T-2 days tithe.

It always amazes me initially how small minorities of populations who are extremist in views and actions can so drastically affect the whole.

Then I remember my history lessons and realize it's been this way for all of recorded (and probably unrecorded) history.

Pffft to your marits. They're inferior to proper marits anyway (cheap knock-offs)...

I have a pretty good idea which regulars who post here have served in the military. It does occur to me though. I wonder how many have served during a conflict.

Either way you cut it, I am irregular...

Fought in Croatia 1991-1995.

Now that is fascinating....

I don't believe I've ever heard the Serb side of the Croatia fighting. Care to give us a synopsis? I'll listen with an open mind.

We earthlings just love to fight...I thought you Martians would have figured it by now.

My mother is from Croatia, and I just love the place (Dalmatia in particular)...well, you know how love can get complicated at times...

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...

Uncle: "It seems like next time you visit, you will have to come with a passport."

Me: "I'd sooner come with a gun."

And so I did.

Looks like some of that there Yankee Liberal elite beer is being used as bait. A Bud or bottle of JD would work better.

That was my thought exactly. No self respecting redneck would buy anything other than bud, or coors, or Lone Star.
