i spoke to soon - just got a verification error on a Memorex disk, again, right towards the end of the verification... ... these disks worked just fine before. i had let the machine cool down a couple of hours before trying this last one. i'll give it one last attempt before going back to single layer media.

That's a bad case of Murphy's Law you've got there: not only does everything go wrong, it also does so at the very last moment, maximising time wastage!

Good luck...

Burning another disk - something is off - it is only burning at 1x instead of 2.4x as it always has before... this isn't looking good... 1.6 out of 8 gigs burned...

Looks like another verification failure... yep... well, hang the dual layer stuff. This came in the approximate same area as the previous 3 failures...

i've had 4 failures (and 1 success) trying to burn this data. i usually do dual backups, and will keep 1 set in a safety deposit box (in case of fire or other disaster). Three of failures were on the Fujifilm disks (100% failure rate on verification, although they've all burned ok.) i've had 1 verification failure with the Memorex disks, and 3 or 4 burn failures caused by the Windows Scheduler starting to do stupid things...

It was great.....(the parts i remember)

watching Snakes on a Plane...then Jackass season 1. It doesn't get any dumber than that......perfect for a drinking night.

I was disapointed a little in truth.....i was expecting the Cheese factor to be far greater.....and for Samuel L Jackson to be much more over the top....instead he was pretty sublime up till the end of the movie.....no wonder the movie didn't live up to the hype.

We watched Kill Bill Vol 1 and 2 on New Years. I think the fight scene with the 88 guys in the Japanese restaurant was the best. Althought the Darryl Hannah part was not bad.

So, how many chips did you have to cash in with the GF unit to be allowed to do that?
