ORIGINAL: niceguy2005 Nik, what don't you like about NWN? It is the WitP of fantasy RPG. we tried it. (my long term buddy who'd partnered with me for BG, BG II and ID I and II) but were greatly disapointed. Graphics were inferior, the downward angle was not adjustible so to see where we were going we had to have the map exanded far out. The worst and damning aspect was that even in "multi player" mode we were essentially playing out seperate RPG's only on a common map while in BG/ID series, you were fully integrated (you see the same conversations in real time.. etc) Might be good for a laugh in single player mode but in multi mode it was a major disapointment. The modules we played also had a very generic feel and the interface was atrocious. Nik, don't hold back man, what do you really think. I have yet to play NWN in multi-player role and have had few experiences with other RPG. Its that whole life thing getting in the way. I did enjoy NWN for its relative closeness to the ultimate RPG, AD&D. The module that came with NWN was well done i thought, but the expansion packs were very disappointing. The graphics do seem inferior to other RPG, but as I said, the depth of the rules were incredible. Much better realistic fantasy play in many intangible ways. One of the big down sides to NWN is the same as WitP, it was full of bugs. I think this comes with the territory on such an ambitious project. It is also built to be open to heavy modding, which was a plus for me, though again, the time constraints of life have kept me from delving into it. I do hear that they are working on a NWN2. I am very hopeful that they will improve the graphics quality and I do hear that they are going to stress improvements to the multi-player system.
