Not as bad as Potatos au Grotain (sp?). My gag reflex kicks in at the mere thought.

I can't eat MREs there is something about them that does not agree with me. When in training we used to get them on occasion. It wasn't really the flavor that was the problem, it was the fact that i couldn't tell the difference between the meatloaf and the lasagna.

Plus, they REALLY don't agree with me.

i think the pork patties were freeze dried. Some of the other stuff was as well (some fruit) - at least it used to be. i have a few crates of the new ones as emergency supplies, but haven't tried them yet.

My opinion is take out the snake. Just my opinion of course.

I whole heartedly agree. Normally I believe in live and let live, but with young grandchildren around on occasion I would be proactive. A shotgun should do the job nicely.

Growing up in Houston, or rather the bayous nearby, we saw these on and off and knew better than to ever go into the water. They are indeed extremely aggressive.

If my grandmother were still alive I would just send her over. See killed rattlesnakes on a regular basis with her garden hoe right up to the ripe old age of 90.

Well, normally the Grandchild is about 1500 miles away - this was the first (but not last) visit.

So far i have not seen the snake - just pics. i have looked. i did see something (i was told) was a Yellow-Bellied Water Snake (non-poisonous).

My wife is freaked by snakes and would *probably* like to see me "take them out"...

"Good" snakes would help keep down the mouse problem. They're as good or better than cats, because they can get places cats wont go.

Cats don't kill people. Neither do mice for that matter.

There is no such thing as a "Good snake". Kill the damn thing already.

They are the same principal. Next time I try one though I'm going 100% organic. I think its the preservatives they probably put in the meals that give me a hard time.

Sounds very likely. Lots of folks have reactions to all the preservatives we get in our foodstuffs these days...

I just saw Paris Hilton's music video on MTV. It was the same sort of horrified fascination that makes people gawk at car crashes. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go claw my eyes out, and then shoot myself in the head.

I think H.P. Lovecraft mentions Paris Hilton somewhere in his works, under the "Thing That Should Not Be" heading...

I listen to music and I watch movies (I guess you could call them videos). I do not, however, watch music videos. Okay I am exaggerating again. There was this one by ZZ Top I watched a few years ago.

I outgrew MTV a good while back, but I was channel-hopping when I saw it...

Once you've seen a Paris Hilton music video, nothing is ever the same... The horror...

i used to watch music videos back in the Dark Ages. Then over a period of (it seems) about 1 year, they all turned to dreck... it seems the producers realized they could make more money just by shooting lots of video of the band in concert and splicing stuff together rather than shooting a video that had to do with the song. Gresham's law being what it is, and Sturgeon's Law also asserting itself with a vengeance, i found one day that it wasn't 90% of the stuff on MTV being bad, but about 99.999%... Any attempts to watch new stuff since then has seen MTV filled up with junky game shows/reality shows, or self-congratulatory awards shows.
