XFL was a joke but was still better than the CFL where they added yards (or maybe meters) to the length of the field and you got points just for trying a field goal.

Baseball is the one true sport. Sad that Japan and Cuba did best in the WBC which got less coverage than the World Cup.

Factors needed to be a good sport:

1. Size and stregth are less important than skill. This eliminates American football and basketball where all you need to be good is to be 300lb or 7ft tall.

2. There are no ties. This eliminates European football and hockey.

3. No funny outfits. This eliminates golf, which is a game, not a sport.

Thus, the only true sport is baseball. QED.

Now, now, lots of other things would qualify under these rules... and baseball MIGHT be knocked out under rule 3...

but, assuming that much leeway in dressing, tennis would qualify (latest trend, at least in Women's tennis is to eliminate as much clothing as possible...)

EDIT: are you talking TEAM sports only here? Tennis did have a Team Tennis League, but it never caught on...

i dunno - arguing about sports is sorta like arguing about religion, and i think the two are about equivalent...

personally i am not in favor of organized religion/sports - just disorganized religion/sport such as The Thread...

Revising Rupd's requirements for a good sport.

1. The players can't be more efeminite than the cheerleaders and there should be lots of good looking cheerleaders, this leaves out European Football.
2. Body contact should not be illegal, unless it is the San Francisco variety. THis leaves very few sports, just hockey and American football.
3. Players should have most of their teeth left - which leaves just American football.
4. Stadiums should serve premium beer for $2.50 or less - which eliminates all sports.

Actually, i only watched that on occasion - man, those chicks scared me

(at the time i was about 4' 5" under 100 pounds - didn't get my growth spurt until well into high school...)
