Do you know what happened to the rats when they got back? PETA was not happy.

Given full government pensions for life? People for Ethical Taxation Association were upset about this.

Any perspective of the space program you get from me is going to be positive. I believe in it. I think the whole world gets benefit from every dollar NASA spends on space. I remember reading an article written by an othropedist from a university in Pennsylvania. He wanted to let people know about what he was getting off of research from the space station. He said it was helping his research on osteoporosis enormously. We don't here about this stuff as much as we should.

So, I snuck the Hermes battle group in north of Batavia and smacked an invasion convoy. Time to run away.

This is her first time out of port. The AI has not penetrated the Indian Ocean. They could any time they want. THe KB was last seen headed toward Truk.

Don't misunderstand me; I'm a fan of space exploration. It's just that lately it seems we've been hitting the point of diminishing returns. ISS looks more and more like a white elephant to my eyes; it makes moderately good TV, but that's about it.

It seems we've gotten about as far as we can get with today's technology, and we have a lot of problems on the Earth that need attention. The current US administration's plans to return to the Moon and go to Mars can't help but smell like "Look-Over-There" syndrome to me. I'm most likely ignorant of a lot of important aspects of the whole picture, but that's how I see it...

Anyhoo, to change the subject (BTW Bruce, please reply to my space program opinion as much as you want to), I think there's some sort of Penguinista conspiracy coming to fruition to thwart my attempt at going on vacation next Sunday.

Not only do I have to jump on a train at half past 2 Sunday morning in order to go to the airport by Denmark's notoriously delay-riddled national train service, but once there, the companies performing security checks and baggage handling are currently in a dispute with the airport operator, and could go on strike at any moment.

I smell the Penguin's hidden flipper in this...

T, where are you going on vacation, if the penguin doesn't ambush you.

And that is my point I don't think we hear enough about the good space stuff. A lot of medical research goes on up there.

I agree that the ISS is a white elephant. I think it was Deke Slayton who called it an "Orbital WPA Project." -- WPA = FDR era agency for putting cash into the economy for make-work projects.. some of which were useful and some of which are amusing in their uselessness.

Given how much the US spends however on truly ill advised and wasteful adventures, especially those involving force projection, I won't complain about NASA. If they gave all the money to NASA at least we'd not be invading Iraq or rattling sabres somewhere else.

I think a manned lunar mission is a great idea provided that we go there with the intention of building a permanent research base there with a long term goal of developing sustainable off-world environments. It's basically one of the last great adaptive radiations left to us as a species... the last one having occurred some 100,000 years ago.

Open the Ship Data screen (by clicking on the ship name), and there'll be an option to send it back at the bottom of the screen...

Thank you, T. The Hermes is safe. Her swordfish have scared away 2 invasion task forces. I may be pressing my luck however. WE shall see.

I am sucking resources and oil out of the DEI.

Japanese battleships and cruisers are at Tarakan. So much for that place

Going to lose about 4 merchant ships. Oops.
