Judging from some of the recent performances you are right. It could be worse, we could be Scotland (or even worse, Germany)

David Niven made the best James Bond

Of course, in that film, Peter Sellars and Woody Allen were also James Bond

Well, Peter Sellers did play Bond in the first Casino Royale, to Orson Welles' Le Chiffre...

I am still looking foward to the new James Bond film. The only Bond I did not care for was Timothy Dalton.

I thought David Lassinby did a decent job.

I think you mean George Lazenby, and I agree that Tim Dalton wasn't very good.

I am myself rather partial to Roger Moore (my first Bond film was the zaniness that was Moonraker), followed closely by Connery and Brosnan, and then Lazenby and Dalton far behind.

I think we'll have to get that website closed soon; it's polluting our brother's mind...

Thank you, at least now I know how to spell his name (and get his first name too).
Of course Diana Rigg wasn't bad in that film (even if she did die at the end).

As a 6 or 7 yeay old, I got the Bond briefcase from "From Russia with Love". At the time it was a cool toy.

I really liked "Live and Let Die". I saw it in college. It had a really cool Paul McCartney theme song and oh yeah - Jane Seymour.

BTW - if you read the original "From Russia With Love" - Ian Fleming killed off Bond at the end of the book via Rosa Kleb and her deadly shoes (no big fight scene, she just kicked him in the shins). Fleming had to do some fancy footwork to get Bond back from the dead after the outcry from fans (sort of like Sherlock Holmes' resurrection after being "killed off" by Moriarty.)

it ends with Bond dropping over after being kicked by Kleb (which poisons him with an "always fatal" snake venom.) Other than that, i don't remember much about the book...

Don't you hate when a book character is so popular you have to resurrect him because the potential for more profit is there
