Why did I think it would be a good idea to get 2 dogs?

I alsways found 2 dogs to be more manageable than 1, if you have the room that is.

They are as manageable as two border collies are ever going to be, but cleaning up the fur that the pair have left all over the house is not fun.

Ahh, you did not say that you had 2 Border Collies. I sympathize, I have one. Great dogs and brilliantly smart, but the shedding is a killer. I have been trying to teach mine to stop shedding on command, but not much luck so far.

I'd settle for the younger one to stop shredding the post for now   The shedding would be a close second, parts of our carpet were white.

I've taught the older one a few things. I taught her a bit of sign language a few months back which was good for impressing the neighbours

The chewing is a bad Border Collie trait, mostly the puppies and adolescents do it. I was not prepared for it. My current dog chewed up about $250 of clothes the first day.

He also ate my vaccuum and two cushions off my chair. Then one day the chewing abruptly stopped.

The question is, would I be remembered fondly? Would Threadians sing "Jolly good fellow" at my funeral? Will my widow be presented with the proud flag of The Thread that I hyad given my life defending?

Forget all that stuff, you've got bigger problems. The word is that when The Thread hits 1,000 pages it will collapse in on itself and form a black hole. Run for your lives!

I would, I'm not sure about the others. I would also provide a memorable and moving eulogy.

Now there's something that must be investigated. Like many people who should know better, if it's dangerous to do something I want to see the consequences...

Thread on brothers.......as I'm hit by a strange 70's nostalgia.....................

As in wanting to listen to really good music or to wear really bad clothes?

Both................shine on you crazy diamond...........

Remember when it was young,
Your Empire of Sun?
Shine on you crazy penguin.
Now there's a look in your eyes,
Like black holes in the sky.
Shine on you crazy penguin.
You were caught on the crossfire
Of Corsairs and Hellcats,
Blown on the steel breeze.
Come on you target for faraway carriers,
Come on commander, you legend, you martyr, and shine!

You reached for the TFs too soon,
You shot for the moon.
Shine on you crazy penguin.
Threatened by the cruisers at night,
And exposed in the light.
Shine on you crazy penguin.
Well you wore out your aircraft
With random precision,
Rode on the steel breeze.
“Come on” said Raver, "you seer of victory,
Come on you wadler, you flyer, you swimmer, and shine!"

When our oldest was a puppy she chewed through my parent's kitchen wall There was a metal mesh in the wall that she went through as well. You always forget the horror and the damage they cause when you think about getting a new one though At least they keep the neighbour's cats out of the garden...

i think everyone is now afraid to post to The Thread because of the rumor that reaching 1000 pages will create a black hole, destroying the forum...

Relax, guys, there is not more than a 1/10 chance of that happening...
