Hi all,

With Mk 18 mines too. T how many of these do I get?

-----------------

SS Permit let me down today. She missed ML Hirashima with 2 torpeodes 240 miles south of Truk.

SS Haddock performed better hitting TK Amatsu Maru with a torpedo 120 miles east of Tarakan.

SS Mingo heavily damaged the probably resource laden freighter Nittai Maru with a torpedo east of Batavia.

Air sightings: 10
Air attacks: 1

--------------------

Slowly but surely the relentless air attacks at Mandalay are taking their toll. The AV was at 5150 a month agao:

Ground combat at Mandalay

Allied Bombardment attack

Attacking force 146919 troops, 1379 guns, 979 vehicles, Assault Value = 3646

Defending force 258078 troops, 1320 guns, 388 vehicles, Assault Value = 5075

Japanese ground losses:
127 casualties reported
Guns lost 1

----------------------

CV and Invasion TF's moving back to PH. Just passing Johnston Island.

Thinking of invading with SEAC forces within 2 months. I think I will attack up there in conjunction with the Australian attack on Timor. Attacking from 3 directions then.

Some goodies arrive soon.....San Jacinto.....Franklin

Hi all,

I know Capt. BUT it will whittle away faster now. For example 11 AV points were lost today. I am currently outflanking Mandalay from the west with 2 x Division + 2 x Brigade. 2 x ARM units will join in due course. The will move in ernest in conjunction with my Amphib landing (destination will be announced in due course) + my Timor venture = a 3 pronged attack.

T - interesting. Never knew that. Thanks.

-----------------

Well guys I have done some calculations. As at 05/42 the IJN posses 93 x AO/TK. They produce a further 27 of these from then until January 1944 (excluding acceleration) = 120. I have sunk 63 so far = 57 remaining roughly give or take 5.

-----------------

A small Dutch submarine did well today. Nearing Bingo fuel, SS KXI, west of Georgetown surfaced and blew up AK Hitati Maru with 5 x shell and 3 x torpedo.

SS S-38 did well in sinking the already damaged TK Amatsu Maru with 2 x torpedo 120 miles SE of Tarakan.

-----------------

4 x BF were embarked today preparing for Eniwetok.......the future.

Corsairs are to patrol over Maloelap and Kwajalein for the first time tomorrow to intercept any enemy planes.

Ventura's will launch their first mission from Wotje tomorrow against Kwajalein.

You know I love these guys right.........

I feel something has changed with Faber's convoys. Either he is sailing fewer of them or he has changed his routes. Need to give it a week or two and if still few contacts then we relocate more dramatically.

Today SS Swordfish blew up PC CH 13 in the Macassar Strait with a torpedo.

SS Crevalle was hunted by an ASW TF 120 miles east of Saipan. Light damage was caused.

Air sightings: 9
Air attacks: 1

-----------------

2 x AK, a DE and an SS arrive in theatre tomorrow.

Also a huge TF is sailing from San Francisco to PH consisting of CVE's (7), DD's, DE, LSD, LCI, AP, MSW, DMS, AGC craft that will redistribute amongst my fleets.

Hi all,

Well another day of no sub contacts. This is really strange. I can't believe that Faber has totally avoided all of my subs. I have so many that at least a few convoys would be spotted. I really wonder whether he has stood everything down or whether he has totally avoided me? I am sending out further subs to choke points - places where he HAS to pass somewhere in a 240 miles radius.

Air sightings = 14
Air attacks = 0
----------------------

More bombing in Burma and at Tarawa and Kwajalein.

A DE arrives in theatre tomorrow.

Hi all,

Well I think it's located the Combined Fleet. SS O19 on a minelaying mission to Guam spotted several cruisers and flat tops........screenshot attached.

SS Cuttlefish and SS O24 located a vconvoy 240 miles east of Truk but failed to attack

Air sightings = 14
Air attacks = 2

------------------------

I'm starting to think about Timor now. My US based reinforcements for Australia thence Timor are just passing Noumea.

In preparation for offensive operations the 7th Australian Division is moving from the Cairns to Darwin.

Several air units - Spits, Beaufighters, Kittyhawks, Mediums are being briefed on the upcoming offensive.

-------------------------

My CV fleets should reach PH within 3-4 days.

CVL San Jacinto arrives tomorrow with an LST.

Hi all,

At last a convoy is spotted and attacked!

SS Tautog sank AK Nitiho Maru with 2 torpedoes 60 miles west of Jolo.

SS Corvina and SS Batfish avoided ASW TF's.

Air sightings = 14
Air attacks = 0

In an e-mail exchange with Faber I remarked where are your convoys skulking? He replied that I had sunk them all

------------------

AVD San Pablo was lightly damaged by a Japanese mine at Wotje.

Both Wotje and Majuro are level 4 airfields now. A B25J BG flew into Majuro today for Maloelap operations.

I'm flying Recon with B24's against Guadacanal and from Darwin against all bases in range upto Kendari. I want to get an 'accurate' view of what i'm facing.

Hi all,

My main fleets will arrive at PH tomorrow. The transports will unload and the wearships will dock for a week. Only a week maximum though. Then we move out to Midway and Wake again.

In the meantime the Marshalls are growing stronger for me. Maloelap was bombed by Mitchells from Majuro for the first time today.

Usual bombing in Burma and China.

-----------------

Recon over Timor indicates only Koepang is occupied with 4 units. Excellent.

-----------------

SS Salmon sank the small Minelayer Kyosai today NE of Koepang. She fired 4 fish at her which all missed! Her second attack of 4 fish was mroe successful with 2 blowing up the pest.

SS Haddock heavily damaged AK Syogwen Maru with a torpedo 120 mils east of Tarakan.

SS Crevalle ws hunted throughout the day by ASW PC vessels 240 miles SE of Pagan. Moderate damage was sustained. Relocating.

Air sightings = 15
Air attacks = 0

--------------------

An AK, LST and DD arrive in theatre tomorrow.

Hi all,

Fairly normal day with air attacks in the Marshalls and in Burma.

-----------------

SS Trigger hit an AP with duds 120 miles ESE of Lae.

SS Batfish evaded 4 x DD west of Bataan.

Air sightings = 11

-----------------

Almost all troops have disembarked at PH now.

Various ship reinforcements from the US should be at PH within 5 days.

With Franklin and San Jacinto ready for action they are to await CA Boston (due in 4 days time) and will then move to PH with 7 x DD. When they are there we move out to Midway to load troops and from there Wake will be smashed around.

Hi all,

Hi Bruce - yes and no. There are 4 attacks that are in the offing over the next 3 months. 2 I have disclosed - Wake will be attacked next. After that Eniwetok will be secured.

I am moving forces to Australia for a push into the southern SRA - Timor. From there it depends on how Faber reacts. Maybe Amboina, maybe Kendari, maybe Bali direction.

I have a 4th operation involving British/Indian/USA Forces that i'm not prepared to disclose at present.

If you have any specific questions on any of these operations please ask away. Thanks for the comment

----------------

The sub quiet continues with only SS Trigger receiving a light ASW attacks from DD's 120 miles ESE of Lae.

I have had enough of this. I have been moving my subs around known lanes. Now it's time to scout further afield. All subs are to move around further afield and more subs are leaving Midway and Darwin to patrol.

Air sightings = 13
Air attacks = 1
----------------

The preparation continues for the Wake Operation with major surface units receiving emergency repairs in PH whilst some SBD groups receive their new Helldiver complement.

2 x LST, an AK, DD and an SS arrive in theatre tomorrow.

Here's the units at Midway prepped for Wake.............

Hi all,

Hi VSWG - Thanks for the Terror

-------------------

Good news. My re-routing of my submarines has brough dividends!:

SS Capelin tagged the troop laden AP Igasa Maru with a torpedo 240 miles ESE of Hong Kong.

SS Tally Ho hit the empty tanker Ceram Maru with a torpedo 240 miles ENE of Palembang.

SS Bonefish heavily damaged AK Toyohi Maru with a bow hit. It's doubtful the freighter will make port with the nearest base being Pagan 480 miles away.

Air sightings: 13
Air attacks: 2
Air hit: 2 both on Growler in PI. Average damage. Returning to Darwin.

Hi all,

F5A Lightnings flew their first recon missions from Wotje today. The bastion of Eniwetok was photographed and elements of 65th Brigade were identified (god knows how)

Both Kwajalein and Maloelap were bombed from Majuro and Wotje.

---------------

SS Salmon did well today. Patrolling 60 miles NE of Koepang she located a convoy carrying troops AWAY from Timor. She put 2 fish into AP Mizuho Maru before sneaking away beneath the waves.

air sightings = 14
Air attacks = 1
Apparently hit SS Rasher NW of Vigan. It didn't.

---------------

Tomorrow my mixed TF arrives at PH with it's array of military vessels.

Tomorrow CA Boston arrives as does a DD and 2 x AK.

With Boston's arrival CV Franklin and CVL San Jacinto et al will leave San Francisco for PH. When they arrives the fleets will form again and move to Wake............

Here's the beauty that is Boston:

Cool - CA Boston. Be nice to her!

Hi Speedy - I've been following this off & on since the first Wake invasion attempt. Out of curiousity, what speed do you set your subs at? (Cruise/Mission/Fast). Or do you vary it?

Hi all,

Hi ctangus - I will do my best. I intend on being nice to all my ships

------------------

My large hodge podge of ships reach PH and dock. I've attached a screenshot of the warships in PH. This only shows the CV elelment since the surface combat TF's and transport TF are out in the bays performing maneuvers.

With CA Boston's arrival CV Franklin, CVL San Jacinto and 5 x DD leave San Francisco tomorrow for PH. When they arrive it's time to kick arse.

------------------

SS Gar puncutred the hull of the empty large tanker Ayazono Maru with a torpedo. This took place 180 miles ESE of Tori Shima. The tanker will survive no problem.

This cat and mouse game is fun. With Faber trying harder and becoming more skillful at re-routing convoys it's more of a challenge

Air sightings = 13
Air attacks = 0

-------------------

Mandalay's Oil production was flattened again today after it had been repaired by the Japanese. Tomorrow it's the Resource production's turn.

I've ordered my P38's at attu to sweep Paramushiro to keep him honest.

My US supply convoy has reached Brisbane. This flotsam containing supply, fuel, para's, army troops and engineers will move along the NE coast to Darwin being covered by P38J's, Beaufighters and Kittyhawks. Once there it's time to invade Timor.

--------------------

2 x SS and a DD arrive in theatre tomorrow

Hi all,

T/Onime - and about every single one of Fabertong's bases. I've said it before if the Japanese player masses troops on Atolls you have NO CHOICE but to mass aswell

I personally predict that they will commence in 2-3 weeks time.

SS Flounder, an LST and a DD arrive in theatre tomorrow as does a Spitfire VIII Squadron.
