Morning all,

Hi witpqs - thanks. If someone was doing this though I doubt they would do it publically. I just think bit of a coincidence I plan to invade Bali = he brings along an Amphibious Bde. I plan to invade Macassar = he brings in a further unit there. All of the other places I mentioned received nothing extra. Also interesting to note I have treated all of these places the same = no special bombing/recon anywhere. Either way i'm going to keep my next move in the SRA a secret. I may still invasde Macassar but I may not

Hi Capt. - Agreed. Burma is a quagmire again until I receive further reinforcements.

Hi Tabpub - LOL. It's a conspiracy I tell you

--------------------

The evacuation of Rangoon was ordered today. With 2 x IJA Bde and 1 x IJA Division mannign the defences it's too much for my Bde + 8 x ARM units to take. Hopefully I can extricate without additional losses.

Heavy bombing against Pagan and north of Rangoon.

--------------------

Balikpapan's Oilfields were attacked again today. They are down to 30% operational now. 9 x Nick FB tried to intercept my force but were dealt with by escorting P38J's.

--------------------

Some CVE's met my returning CV's to ferry replacement aircraft out to them. They are all fully stocked with Hellcat's again now.

Usual air raids against Tarawa, Maloelap, Eniwetok and Kwajalein.

--------------------

SS Drum was attacked by 3 x ASW vessels 60 miels NW of Miri. 1 x DC hit, 2 x DC near miss - 16/24/0. Returning to Darwin. SS Plaice SS Guitarro (The veteran at 74/75 experience) en route.

I am not seeing enemy ships at present. I will keep on station since it may just be a quiet period in his convoys. There are few places he can traverse without bumbing into a submarine.

Air sightings = 16
Air attacks = 3

--------------------

An AK, LCI, LCI(G) and an LST arrive in theatre tomorrow.

Hi all,

A fairly quiet day overall.

The evacuation at Rangoon has gone well. All troops and armour are safely on their weay back to Moulmein.

Further Chinese elements are being ferried itno Myitkyina from Lashio whilst 4 x Chinese Corps march from Chungking to Yunan for air transport. When everyine is at Mandalay we will go again here and at Pagan.

------------------

Balikpapan's oilfields are virtually no more. I will not go for the respirces since I feel Oil is the key weakness for Faber. My Heavies will rest for a few days. Especially since some new Superforts have arrived to replace the 2nd B24J squadron in the region.

------------------

Quiet at CentPac whilst the CV's are 3 days out from PH.

------------------

SS Burrfish was attacked by 5 x DD 120 miles SE of Shanghai. 4 x DC near miss - 20/1/0.

SS Pomfret strangely sank on the way back to Darwin today. I don't recall her being that heavily damaged. Weird.

I've noticed 2 subs that have sunk on the way back to port after suffering what I would not deem serious damage. Will keep an eye on this.

Air sightings = 16
Air attacks = 0

--------------------

An AK arrives in theatre tomorrow.

Here's a look at the total air losses for us. Not great reading for Faber:

Wow ! Although he's lost almost twice as many a/c he still flew nearly 1,000 more sorties than you today.

Hi all,

Hi kilowatts - right. Those missions are training or ASW missions. They have to be since Faber flys no offensive missions for months!

Hi comander - welcome. Agreed. Faber probably has pulled out of the south Pacific. The only visibly active bases are PM, Gili Gili, Lunga, Tulagi and Rabaul. The focus remains as is but if the CentPac Operation goes well I may divert a CV division + 3 x Divisions down there at the end of 44 to 'clean up'.

--------------------

Massive airstrikes in Burma again. 32nd Ind. Mixed Bde on the Rangoon rail line for example sustained over 1000 casualties with 30+ guns...........My focres are 30 miles away from the Rangoon rail defences. I don't expect to beat him here yet (shock attack across the river of course) but he has been heavily interdicted by LBA and in time I will wear him down at some location.

--------------------

Kendai bombed by Mitchells from Maumere. A Tabby and Myrt destroyed on the ground.

An FS is planned with P38J's over Balikpapan tomorrow. Heavies continue to rest.

--------------------

SS Salmon blew up AK Asuka Maru with 5 shells and 3 torpedoes 120 miles east of Balikpapan.

SS Pipefish had a new encounter today against 'new type PC' craft 60 miles NE of Lingayen. These puppies carrying 14 x Type 2 DC and an AS Mortar launcher. Pipefish sank PC PC-6 with a torpedo but sustained 18 x near miss DC and 2 x hit DC - 81/66/0. Knowing how things have gone with damaged subs recently I doubt she'll make Darwin but they'll try.

Air sightings = 15
Air attacks = 1

-------------------

CVE Fanshaw Bay, SS Sirdar, an LCI and an LCI(G) arrive in theatre tomorrow.

Hi all,

More of the same throughout Burma. The following units sustained 1000+ casualties north of Rangoon:

6th Ind. Bde
21st Mixed Bde
32nd Ind. Mixed Bde

---------------

Kendari was bombed by Mitchells from Maumere which destroyed Tabby's, Myrt's and Dinah's on the ground.

My FS of Balikpapan found no enemy fighters on patrol.

---------------

Bombing throught the Marshalls and at Gili Gili and PM (as per norm).

---------------

SS S-43 evaded 4 x DD 180 miles east of Aomori.

Air sightings = 18
Air attacks = 1

---------------

CVE Marcus Island, an SS and an LST arrive in theatre tomorrow as does 6th USMC Division and a B25J Squadron.

Hi all,

This is the quiet period at the moment whilst troops move on Rangoon and Chinese form up in Burma. In SRA i'm awaiting my CVE's before attacking anymore. In CentPac we're goign to move off in the next month for the BIG operation.....

--------------------

More of the same in Burma......bombing of IJA troops....Chinese troops being ferried to Myitkyina........men are 25 miles to the Japanese defences north of Rangoon.

--------------------

Kendari airfields bombed and 2 x Tabby are destroyed.

--------------------

My CV's have reached PH and have refuelled, taken on board planes and pilots. They have docked so CLAA's, CL's anmd DD's can receive a 4/44 upgrade.

--------------------

I feel Faber is being quiet at the moment with his convoys. I just don't believe they could avoid ALL of my submarine hotspots. A couple of Japanese Convoys have been tracked in the Phillipine Sea of late. Maybe he's more active here.

AK Koki Maru sank due to submarine damage today at Jolo.

Air sightings = 15
Air attacks = 1

--------------------

An AK, AE, LCI and DE arrive in theatre tomorrow as does a Catalina Squadron.

Up to 81/80/0 now T.

I really wonder if something happened to SS survivability or just bad die rolls for me of late. Normally subs don't seem to sink even if in 70ish FLT range. They seem to stay there until port is made. Mine just keep going up and up nowadays..............

I've had a few do that, but most survive as you say. It might help to put it on cruise speed instead of mission speed.

AFAIk only running at Full speed makes a difference on FLT? I thought running at Cruise/Mission speed makes no difference?

Somebody posted a long while back that it helps. It seems to have helped me a couple of times, at other times not, so I don't really know if the 'help' was coincidence or not.

I thought 'mission' was a combo of cruise and full?

Hi all,

Hi witpqs - we'll see. I have changed Pipefish to Cruise Speed. She's up to 81/88/0 now though.........

-------------------

More massed attacks in Burma. This is going to be a slugfest and will take time. Nothing else I can do about it now though.

Recon has spotted another unit approaching Pagan. As such I will risk a deliberate attack tomorrow. Will probably fail.

--------------------

In the SRA i've ordered the Heavies to attack Soerabaja airfields tomorrow with P38J escort from Maumere.

Time to smash the planes there and then go for the oil afterwards.

---------------------

I've flown in a B24J BG to Wake to bolster the attacks on Marcus Island. I want to keep this place closed so that it can't detect any ship movement.

---------------------

No submarine attacks.

Air sightings = 12
Air attacks = 1

Hi all,

As predicted the attack at Pagan failed. Burma sure is frustrating. Time to focus on CentPac soon............

-------------------

Once again my P38J's were socked in at Maumere whilst my Heavies flew from Koepang! Typical:

Day Air attack on Soerabaja , at 22,65

Japanese aircraft
Ki-44-IIb Tojo x 36
Ki-45 KAIa Nick x 25
Ki-61 KAIc Tony x 39

Allied aircraft
Mosquito PR.IX x 3
PB4Y Liberator x 36
B-29 Superfortress x 48

Japanese aircraft losses
Ki-44-IIb Tojo: 14 destroyed, 9 damaged
Ki-45 KAIa Nick: 3 destroyed, 20 damaged
Ki-61 KAIc Tony: 12 destroyed, 15 damaged
Ki-46-III Dinah: 1 destroyed
G4M2 Betty: 11 destroyed

Allied aircraft losses
PB4Y Liberator: 11 destroyed, 14 damaged
B-29 Superfortress: 4 destroyed, 22 damaged

Japanese ground losses:
83 casualties reported
Guns lost 4

Airbase hits 21
Airbase supply hits 5
Runway hits 103

I have stood down my bombers and will sweep with P38J's tomorrow. If they take off that is

74 enemy planes were lost today to my 29.

---------------------

A 'fun' day in the Submarine war:

Firstly as predicted Pipefish is doomed. Crazy how nowadays any submarine that gets over 40 FLT is sinking. I'm keeping an eye on this and if it keeps happening i'm going to report it. I scuttled Pipefish at 97 FLT today...........3 or 4 submarines for this month.

SS S-45 sank PC PC-17 with a torpedo 360 miles east of Aomori. In return the other ASW ships dropped 10's of DC's - 1 x DC hit, 6 x DC near miss - 19/51/0. Back to Attu Island. No doubt she'll sink also

SS Salmon sank AK Kansai Maru with a torpedo 60 miles east of Balikpapan. The escorts failed to locate my submarine.

SS Dace probably sank PC PC-13 with a torpedo 120 miles NE of Brunei. The other ASW ships failed to locate my submarine.

SS Sand Lance was attacked by 5 x ASW vessels 120 miles north of Brunei. 8 x DC near miss - 34/9/0. She'll probably sink also

Air sightings = 16
Air attacks = 1
Air hits = 1 - SS Lapon by a Sally 60 miles east of Batavia - 19/24/0

---------------------

CV Ticonderoga, CL Miami, an SS and 2 x AK arrive in theatre tomorrow.

Hi all,

The 30th and 47th Chinese Corps have been airlifted to Myitkyina. More to follow.

--------------------

My sweep went off well over Soerabaja:

Day Air attack on Soerabaja , at 22,65

Japanese aircraft
N1K1-J George x 20
Ki-44-IIb Tojo x 16
Ki-45 KAIa Nick x 12
Ki-61 KAIc Tony x 22

Allied aircraft
P-38J Lightning x 102

Japanese aircraft losses
N1K1-J George: 8 destroyed, 1 damaged
Ki-44-IIb Tojo: 13 destroyed
Ki-45 KAIa Nick: 28 destroyed
Ki-61 KAIc Tony: 21 destroyed

Allied aircraft losses
P-38J Lightning: 14 destroyed, 9 damaged

70 Japanese planes were shot down for 14 x P38J. A fair trade. We rest tomorrow.

My CVE's are passing south of the Solomans en route to Darwin.

---------------------

Bombing throughout the Marshalls. I may invade some of these bases later on in the year when I have spare forces. Additional points and more dead/captured Japanese.

----------------------

SS Cero sank AP Sunten Maru with 2 torpedoes 300 miles east of Morotai.

SS Pike missed AP Kiri Maru 240 miles west of Iwo Jima.

SS Flasher was attacked by 4 x ASW vessels 60 miles west of Tori Shima. 2 x DC hit and 5 x DC near miss - 63/86/0. I doubt she'll make Wake Island.

Air sightings = 12
Air attacks = 0

-----------------------

CVE Steamer Bay, SS Telemachus and an AK arrive in theatre tomorrow.

Hi all,

A further IJA combat unit moved into the defences north of Rangoon bringing the total to 12 enemy units and 90,000+ men. Just exceeding my total. Nonetheless I will advance and hopefully airpower will make the difference in time.

I am concerned about supply though. IIRC once I cross a river then I am likely to receive almost no supply. Do I remember correctly?

-----------------

I forgot to tell my P38 piklots NOIT to sweep Soerabaja again. Bad weather menat that 2/3 of the force lost their way and only 32 reached the target encountering 113 enemy fighters on CAP. My men faught valiantly shooting down 37 enemy planes for the loss of 19 friendly.

I have rested them for tomorrow. We will return soon with Heavies.

-----------------

Marcus Island is being closed now with the additonal bombing of the B34J BG. Good.

4 x AK were attacked trying to sneak into Kwajalein by SB2C's from Wotje. 3 of them were left heavily damaged and burning.

It will soon be time to take a toll of shipping and get ready for the big invasion!

Infact now that a certain ship arrival takes place tomorrow IT IS TIME! See below.........

-----------------

SS Steelhead heavily damaged AP Yamakisan Maru with a torpedo 360 miles west of Iwo Jima. In return the escorts landed 2 x DC near miss - 8/0/0.

SS Sea Rover was attacked by 5 x PG 120 miles SE of Singapore. 3 x near miss DC - 10/0/0.

SS I-11 was detected by convoy escorts 120 miles west of Rangoon. 1 x DC near miss.

An AP was confirmed sunk at Pontianak after submarine damage.

Air sightings = 10
Air attacks = 0

----------------------

The reborn CV Yorktown, an APD and an AK arrive in theatre tomorrow.

AFAIK rivers don't affect supply movement.

Regarding flt damage: I think it depends on the sys damage. It is very likely that flt damage increases with a high sys damage (70+). Between 50 and 70 sys damage, flt damage will probably stay the same until the ship reaches a port. Below 50 sys damage, and the ship will decrease its flt damage at sea. At least that's my experience.

Hi all,

Hi VSWG - I'm not sure. I really have noticed more of my submarines sinking that wouldn't have a couple of months ago.

--------------------

Massive air raids in Burma. 12th Chinese Corps almost fully at Myitkyina.

11th East African Division arrived yesterday. I'll keep it in reserve to build up a further force.

---------------------

I swear I had ordered my P38J's not to sweep Soerabaja but 46 of them did and encountered 170 enemy fighters (Zeke, George, Tojo, Tony). My boys shot down 56 for the loss of 24 P38J's. I've checked and they are definitely not due to fly tomorrow. We'll rest and then go back with the heavies very soon.

---------------------

Yorktown's Squadrons are flying down from Dutch Harbour (where they disembarked before Yorktown sunk). Once at San Francisco they will embark. It will then be time to move further ships from San Francisco to PH. Then it will be time to load up for the Mariana's.

---------------------

Air sightings = 15
Air attacks = 2

----------------------

An AK and an LST arrive in theatre tomorrow.

Hi all,

Points:

Japanese: +1152
Allied: + 3175

Bases:

Japanese: - 1 base (+342 points)
Allied: + 1 base (+37 points)

Planes:

Allies lost: 707
Japanese lost: 1583

Troops:

Allies lost: 30 points
Japanese lost: 216 points

Ships:

Allies lost: 10 ships - 73 points - mixture of AK's and submarines.

Japanese lost: 106 ships!() - 678 points - 23 of these by submarines (ok with that). The rest aroudn Japan with my CV raid. That's 83 ships!

Strategic points: 668

-------------------------------

My thoughts:

Overall a good month for destruction of enemy planes and ships. I've lost 6-7 submarines this month which is not good! My highest tally so far. My submarines have still performed well though.

Not much progress on the land though with no advances in CentPac, SRA or Burma.

Hi all,

May approaches and the Submarine war hots up. It's time to move and try something else in certain areas.

Better ASW TF's are around now and they are causing too much trouble. Today for example:

SS Devilfish sank PG Edo Maru with 2 torpedoes 300 miles east of Palembang. In return 2 x DC near miss were dropped - 10/0/0.

SS Guitarro sank PC PC-14 with a torpedo 60 miles NW of Brunei. In return throughout the day she was hunted by 2 x PC and a DD receiving 2 x DC hit and 7 x DC near miss - 52/48/0. Back to Darwin. I hope she doesn't sink. I'm setting all damaged subs at cruise speed from now on

SS Gudgeon sank PC Oki with a torpedo 60 miles NE of Tori Shima. In return 3 x DC near miss - 8/0/0.

SS Sea Rover was sunk by 5 x ASW vessels 240 miles east of Palembang. 15 x DC in total.

SS S-43 was reportedly sunk by 4 x ASW vessels 240 miles east of Aomori with 16 x DC's. That was not the case though - 34/48/0. Back to Attu Island.

Due to the circumstances near Palembang, Brunei, south and east Japan. It's time to relocate to safer waters.............

Tally for the day = 3 x ASW vessels for 1 x SS and 2 x SS damaged.

Air sightings = 10
Air attacks = 0

------------------------

More of the same in Burma and CentPac.

I have decided to take Andaman Island with 11th East African Division.

------------------------

An AK and an LST arrive in theatre tomorrow.

Hi all,

Thanks guys for the suggestion of using Cruise Speed on damaged subs. It's stablising a couple of them who may be saved. Fingers crossed.

-------------------------

More massed bombing on IJA positions north of Rangoon. Over 1000 men are hit again. My men are only 8 miles away from these defenders now!

4 x Chinese Corps are to be airlifted from Yunan to Myitkyina. The final Chinese elements to be used in Burma for now.

Pagan appears to be weakening again. His 4 units muster 500 AV to my 4's 800+ AV. I will wait for now though.

---------------------

Macassar was bombed by Mitchells from Maumere today.

The Heavies and P38J's are resting before attacking again.

My CVE's are passing south of Gili Gili now.....not long until Darwin.

----------------------

SB2C's hit 3 already damaged AK's berthing in Kwajalein's harbour after being hit 2 days ago entering the base.

----------------------

No submarine attacks today.

Air sightings = 7
Air attacks = 1

-----------------------

2 x AK and an LCI(G) arrive in theatre tomorrow as does 188th USA Glider Rgt.

My thoughts:

Overall a good month for destruction of enemy planes and ships. I've lost 6-7 submarines this month which is not good! My highest tally so far. My submarines have still performed well though.

Not much progress on the land though with no advances in CentPac, SRA or Burma.

I'll give the penguin credit -- he's got an eye-popping number of base points. Switching flags on a number of those seems like a good idea.

Hi all,

Hi Capt. - Faber sure has. I plan to take back some of the irrelevant areas in the end of 44 - Solomans, PNG, the other Marshalls. A lot of those points are due ot him maxing the airfields/ports on the bases he controls. This is good for him in the short term since it gives him more points. Bad in the long run though when I retake the bases his score will drop even more.

Hi kilowatts - you've lost me i'm afraid. 6th Army? Faber doesn't control any bases in India.

----------------------

Burma is going to be 'fun' over the next 4 days. My forces will advance across the river towards Rangoon in the next 3 days. Pagan is still pretty weak. My men there are fairly rested and ready to go (considering the conditions that is). I will attack here tomorrow to divert Faber away from Rangoon for a day or so.

More massive air raids by me across Burma.

11th E. African Division, Bombay Eng Rgt + BF + supply are moving to Columbo before heading to Andaman Island.

----------------------

More resting in SRA awaiting my CVE's.............

My CVE's passing Gili Gili surprisingly located an enemy troop convoy passing Goodenough Island.

TBM's escorted by Hellcats and Wildcats attacked thr TF throughout the day. The first attack by 28 x TBM failed to hit any ships. The 2nd of 38 x TBM managed to damage AP Nichibi Maru and AP Miyadono Maru and sink AP Hikade Maru carrying 6th BF elements!

My CVE's will move around the tip of PNG to hopefully wipe out the rest of the convoy before moving to Darwin.

--------------------------

3 x AK were hit again in Kwajalein Harbour by Helldivers.

VB-5 has flown aboard Yorktown in San Francisco. Weirdly though she has 36 planes but the maximum unit size is showing as 18?!?

---------------------------

SS Blackfish was attacked by 5 x ASW vessels 360 miles SW of Iwo Jima. 1 x DC near miss - 10/0/0. Later on in the day SS Blackfish hit PC Tsushima with dud's.

Air sightings = 10
Air attacks = 1

----------------------------

4 x AK and an LST arrive in theatre tomorrow.

Hi all,

Hi kilowatts - LOL

---------------------

Well interestingly Japanese resistance is weakening at Pagan. The Allied attack today made some progress and overran some of the fortifications. Allied LBA is clearly the major factor here:

Ground combat at Pagan

Allied Deliberate attack

Attacking force 34734 troops, 326 guns, 0 vehicles, Assault Value = 817

Defending force 28715 troops, 20 guns, 0 vehicles, Assault Value = 508

Allied max assault: 820 - adjusted assault: 683

Japanese max defense: 355 - adjusted defense: 318

Allied assault odds: 2 to 1 (fort level 7)

Allied Assault reduces fortifications to 6

Japanese ground losses:
164 casualties reported
Guns lost 1

Allied ground losses:
635 casualties reported
Guns lost 28

Many of my engineers are disabled but i've decided to risk a shock attack tomorrow before Faber moves in the reinforcements 60 miles down the rail line.

More massed air raids across Burma.

-------------------------

My CVE's attacked the Japanese convoy at Goodenough Island. This is weird though. The first attacks for the past 2 days miss everything and the 2nd hit. Weird. Look:

Day Air attack on TF, near Goodenough island at 56,93

Allied aircraft
FM-2 Wildcat x 35
F6F Hellcat x 19
TBM Avenger x 21

Allied aircraft losses
TBM Avenger: 2 damaged

Japanese Ships
PC Shonon Maru #3
PC Shonon Maru #10
AP Hinko Maru
AP Nichibi Maru
PG Seikai Maru
PC Tama Maru #8
PC Shonan Maru #7

THEN:

Day Air attack on TF, near Goodenough island at 56,93

Allied aircraft
FM-2 Wildcat x 49
F6F Hellcat x 27
TBM Avenger x 16

No Allied losses

Japanese Ships
PC Tama Maru #8, Torpedo hits 1, on fire, heavy damage
PG Seikai Maru, Torpedo hits 2, on fire, heavy damage
AP Hinko Maru, Torpedo hits 1, on fire
PC Shonon Maru #10

Japanese ground losses:
18 casualties reported

WEIRD

PG Senkai Maru sank.

Faber has unloaded the rest of the troops at Goodenough Island. Due to low fuel i'm moving back now towards Darwin.

-----------------------------

SS Tally Ho was attacked by 4 x PG 180 miles SE of Singapore. 2 x near miss DC - 6/0/0.

SS Tilefish heavily damaged TK Nanei Maru with a torpedo 60 miles west of Manila. In return 1 x DC near miss - 4/0/0.

SS Grunion heavily damaged DD Shimozuki with a torpedo but in return was pummelled to death by PC PC-7 and PC PC-5.

Air sightings = 10
Air attacks = 0

Hi all,

Well Burma is getting fun again. My shock attack at Pagan suceeded in breaking through more fortifications. The problem is my men are now without engineers (disabled). I will try another deliberate attack tomorrow just to see:

Ground combat at Pagan

Allied Shock attack

Attacking force 33671 troops, 286 guns, 0 vehicles, Assault Value = 749

Defending force 28359 troops, 21 guns, 0 vehicles, Assault Value = 504

Allied max assault: 1378 - adjusted assault: 911

Japanese max defense: 370 - adjusted defense: 558

Allied assault odds: 1 to 1 (fort level 6)

Allied Assault reduces fortifications to 5

Japanese ground losses:
432 casualties reported
Guns lost 5

Allied ground losses:
1070 casualties reported
Guns lost 37

My advance towards Rangoon from the north will cross the river tomorrow. I'm not expecting much but it should tie down enemy troops.

-------------------

Quiet in the SRA as my CVE's moved past PM towards Darwin.

Mitchells bombed Macassar.

P38J's still repairing before being unleashed with my Heavies again.

Faber has not reacted down here again. I assume since his last CV raid failed and his last bombardment found mines, CD's and PT's. He's probably waiting to see where I go next.

-------------------

Bombing throughout the Marshalls. 2 x AK hit by Helldivers at Kwajalein. AK Shirahama Maru sinks.

VERY WEIRD - VB 5 which moved back onto CV Yorktown has expanded to a 54 size group! As in just like a CVR group. Crazy! I am now thinking in just putting my Hellcat group on there and having 94 planes - 40 x Hellcat and 54 x Helldiver.

--------------------

SS Salmon sank MSW W.17 with a torpedo 180 miles east of Balikpapan.

Air sightings = 10
Air attacks = 1

--------------------

SS Porpoise and an AK arrive in theatre tomorrow.

Hi all,

Burma saw rthe main focus today.

Masses of Allied air raids on Japanese positions at Mandalay, Pagan and north of Rangoon.

The final attack (for now) was stopped dead at Pagan. My men are weary and have many disabled Engineers and Infantry. Time to bombard here again and then attack in due course when all the mean are rested

My men swarmed across the Irriwadi and failed ot dislodge the Japanese north of Rangoon. As I predicted. Mainly disablements:

Ground combat at 30,32

Allied Shock attack

Attacking force 71774 troops, 507 guns, 17 vehicles, Assault Value = 1525

Defending force 69914 troops, 373 guns, 128 vehicles, Assault Value = 1460

Allied max assault: 1382 - adjusted assault: 389

Japanese max defense: 828 - adjusted defense: 499

Allied assault odds: 0 to 1

Japanese ground losses:
504 casualties reported
Guns lost 5

Allied ground losses:
3446 casualties reported
Guns lost 86

The position is achievable IMO due to Allied air power smashing the enemy. I've attached a screenshot of both our forces:

The Japanese have 5 x Bde + 1 x Division.

The Allies have 4 x Bde + 3 x Division.

I have 3 more Chinese Corps to airlift to Myitkytina and they will march on Mandalay giving me 3 points where I pressure him at once.

-------------------

Quiet in the SRA.

CVE's moving past Thursday Island.

--------------------

SS Cobia performed well today in damaging (probably sinking 1 x AK) 2 x AK: AK Kenryu Maru and then AK England Maru with a torpedo deep in the Phillipine Sea. In return an MSW landed 1 x DC near miss - 4/0/0.

Air sightings = 9
Air attacks = 2

---------------------

CVE Sitkoh Bay and an LST arrive in theatre tomorrow.
