During development the game has progressed passed my curretn graphics card, thus I need to upgrade. I haven't purchased the game yet but I do have every intention of doing so. Is it safe to assume that, even with less than minimum graphics card requirements, I could:

1. Generate teams/leagues with uniforms/field art for when I'm ready to play (the work others have done is awesome)?
2. Be able to work/learn/play with the PDS (playbook work already done has accomplished a lot of what I was thinking about, but I still have my own little things to check out)?
3. I already know this is a loaded question in that I've read some people with at least a somewhat "equal" set up as mine (XP home edition, 1.6 gig processor, 512 ram, GeForce 2 w/64 meg processor) have had success in playing the game. Can I actually play the game or will I be drastically limited because of my current configuration?

To be honest I'm trying to figure a sound strategy to convince "mrs. firebirds" that what I want to get may not be ideally playable at this point in time due to the computer situation yet it still wouldn't be a bad idea right now because I could "fix to get ready" in preparation for the new graphics card which will also enable her to do more with what she wants to do (been married awhile so I've learned a little something, lol). And every indication is that the issues that have come up with the game are being positively addressed ASAP with the fixes working plus it looks like the game will be fully supported for the duration. With 3 kids and a very tight budget it is important that I can justify every $$ that is used for entertainment, especially when I'm the only one that is probably going to get the benefit of same.

I have been playing with the game with a sytem that has less power then you indicated, even with a crappy Integrated graphics card. If my system can run it, I think there is a good chance that your computer you have already should be able too run it too.

Magnum357, thanks for the prompt reply. With that info I'll see what I can do. I sure would like to "catch up" with those of you have made such great progress.

I am unsure if this will do it or not. It is better than what Magnum has been playing it on. With the game at lower resolution, it may play a good game.

The graphics card is the part I am sure would help if upgraded.

I have a very similar system to yours (I have 768 MB of RAM though). I can play the game pretty well but I have to dial down the graphics somewhat.

Ya, I forgot too mention that I can't really play the game too well if the Graphics settings are high. But that is ok, the graphics are still not bad even on low settings and I am designing my own stadiums that have low poly counts so that helps out too for low end systems a little.

Thank you to all for the promising news. At worst case I can learn to play the game. Sounds like low poly is my way to go till I get upgraded. I only have dial up at home so I may wait till the 1.096 patch is part of the box set before I purchase, it sounds like it has addressed the most serious issues/complaints in the game.

I believe I've found a source for a new board, roughly $80, that should do the trick. GeForce 5700 series with 256 processor.
