dammit!...i told the hit squad to use cyanide tipped bullets

I am pretty sure that is against the Geneva Convention. I may have to tell the New York Times.

The pilot situation is worsening.

#4 ace PO2 Doikawa-14 kills-MIA
#5 ace PO2 Nomura-11 kills-MIA

Even my 99 exp Sally pilot is missing in China.

WHY?? How does this help you slow down the Americans and Co. coming up from Oz or the East Pacific? We know you do better on land combat then Kenny. I would use some of those LCU's to reinforce those areas because if he manages to hold on there, those HEAVY bombers that you love so much could be based there.

Do you have some of the Western Aleutians in Japanese hands to prevent transfer of planes to Russia??

Hopefully, Kenny has been building up the forts of all those bases to level 9 and has the fighters/bombers set on training of 90% for over a year.

If Tom does go for Russia...he's mostly doing it for the VP's, and that fact that he's rules me in land combat. As for the concern of 4E's being based in USSR. We've come up with a series of house rules

1. As we agreed Tom will activate Russia at least 30 days before the invasion so I can move troops.
2. The attack Russia should be suprized. Therefore all bombers should be set to training or navel search and fighters should be a max of 30 CAP.
3. Due to commie paranoia no other Allied units (LBA or LCU) may enter Russia execept to retake a base already captured by Japan.
4. Allied subs are allowed to refuel at Vladilovstock

while the 4E bombers will be missed, i'm not too concerned about a USSR invasion. While he may be able to take it...its not gonna be an easy victory, with level 9 forts, 1000 fighters, 200 dive bombers, and 300 level bombers scattered throughout the Soviet Union.

I've been upgrading all my Soviet planes from the begininng, so most of them are front line Migs and Yaks. While pilot experience isn't the greatest, i'm sure they can hold the line, as long as i keep pressure on the south pacific front

The invasion would be for the points. I was hoping to score about 7K worth of VPs by taking Chungking but there seems to be a supply bug keeping the troops from starving down to a level that they can be defeated. 9000 supply per month should not be supporting an unmodifed AV of 12,000.

If I take out Russia I may score enough points to hold off an Allied 2:1 victory by 1945.

I figure if I am going to lose the Home Islands I am going to need somewhere to move the Empire in exile to.

Ken,
What type of tanks do the Russian get??
If they are T-34's they should get a "Zero Bonus" against the Japanese troops.

CEF units are not going to enter from or cross into Manchuria. The ones I send (Exact # is classified) will enter from CEF territory to the North of Yenan. I will need to leave enough to prevent a break out at Chungking and to supress uprisings elsewhere.

Soviets indeed have T34's..unfortunately i heard they were nerfed in WITP. Someone tested a battle b/t T34 LCU and the japanese medium tank LCU , and the result came out to a draw...or slightly favoring the japanese.

anyways..here are some of the key USSR players at my disposal

KD -

Have you ever read this thread? http://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=842290

It helped me a lot in understanding ground combat. Tom Hunter's Lunacy in the Pacific AAR was good, too.

I agree. despite the VP gain.

Given the slow rate of Allied response I feel the Japanese player is panicking. If he's gonna freak out over losing Port Moresby, I dunno. Looks like he threw all of his eggs into one basket (Asian Mainland) and forgot about the real threat.

correct....no B26's. B25's have better range, and replacement rate. So i upgraded all B26's to B25's.

PM is still shut down. Not much else happening

Trog: The reason I am panicing over losing PM is due to the masses of 4E bombers that will fly from there. If PM is operational Rabaul can't be held. 600 4E bombers will beat any CAP I put up. If Rabaul falls Truk is threatened and so on all the way to the Home Islands. It has nothing to do with LCUs but rather with the inabilty of the Japanese to stop the 4E bomber threat. That is why I must stop him here as long as possible. The Russian invasion also makes use of units that at the moments are not doing much of anything. The points scored there will make it harder for Kenny to get to 2:1 and may delay the game into 1946 even if the Home Islands are burned to the ground.

To quote Dr Evil "Why am I surrounded by freakin' idiots?" The Bettys who flew such a coordinated strike last turn went in piecemeal against Allied CVs and got slaughtered. If all 330 had gone in together I may have sunk a CV or 2. Even 6 mine hits failed to sink an AK.

I had hoped that the Buna defenders
would be able to hold off an air drop. Allied airpower made this impossible.

This time I tried adding a few hundred Zeros to escort the PM strikes. They all decided to escort the strike on Buna and left the brave but stupid Betty pilots to go it alone at PM. The results were predicatable. Looks like New Georgia is going to be little more than a speed bump to the Allied juggernut. I have pulled back to my next line of defense and dug in. PM is now operational so New Georgia has become untenable
