Did you figure this out by "Googling" my name?

tried googling RUPD3658...bunch of Chinese websites came up.....NJ Police Detective must be your cover....how deceptive....no

wonder your obsessed with taking down Chungking.

if you google my name "Kenny Donovan" and "Cross Country" i'm an internet star with the 2nd link on the page.

in the spirit of full disclosure my Forum name is self explainatory, while my email name is something that goes back to when i was 15, and came up with "EpicWave" (i like to surf in my spare time) and "17" is my lucky number. While i'm 25 now, and my email address is probably too "childish", i can't bring myself to change it to something more "appropiate".

same difference for me also, i married a Stockton girl, and i graduated from Trenton State, either way its 2 renunions i need to go to

Spotted units at Chungking went up to 116 and the manpower went up too. At least the AV wnet down even if only by 9 points.

I have spotted 16 LCUs on the trail from Gasmata to Rabaul. Looks like Kenny is going to take the overland route rather than risk a landing at Rabaul.

Not a good three months for the empire. I got drawn into a battle at Wake that cost me a CV, CVL, CVE, 5 CAs and close to 2000 planes for very little in return. Looking back I would have been better off not even contesting the landings. This loss of points has shattered any hopes of holding a 3:1 VP margin to the end of the year. Now I must focus on holding a 1:2 until 1946.

Highlights (or low lights for Japan) include:

1. The Allied capture of Wake and the ensuing battle

2. A surface action at Menado that cost me a CA and 2 DDs for nothing in return

3. The Allied capture of Eniwetok, Kai Island, Mili, Wewak, and most of Norther NG.

4. I found a way to defeat the sub menace and caused them to withdraw from my sea lanes. Thanks to this and a manipulation of my industry, reserves of Heavy Industry are now at an all time high.

The only other good thing for Japan is that a on of ships were damaged at the battle of Wake and should be out of service for a while.

Points scored for this quarter were

Allied: 3756
Japan: 2167

Score as of 09-30-1943:

Japan: 48,925
Allies: 17,434
Ratio: 2.80 in favor of Japan.

Fourth quarter should be interesting.

I had sent fighters to Paramushiro Jima to try to intercept the PBM Mariners flying daily recon missions. They failed to shoot any down but instead drew the attention of some B-24s.

To quote Dr. Evil "Why must I be surrounded by freakin' idiots!". I manage to pull off sneaking the entite Jap battle line all the way to Kiska undetected. I know there will be a few PT boats there so I send in a TF of DDs to deal with them. I know that there are close to 200 B-24s and P-38s on the AF since they have been raiding Paramushiro Jima daily. I knew that there were very few planes on search mission since I had TKs unloading fuel there for over a week without getting spotted.

The BBs arrive before the DDs somehow and tangle with the PTs sinking only two of them. This screws them us so much that the bombardment scores on 5 runway hits and destroys 3 planes on the ground. Come dawn 2 of my BBs get plastered by AC that should have been wrecks on a smoldering, cratered runway. After it is all over I see that the BBs only expended 2 rounds of ammo.

Do I at least get points for a genius plan that got runined by my commanders?

The kicker is that Adm Tanaka (my best surface commander) was incharge of one of the bombardment TFs.

Hopefully I will be able to get back to the HI under a thunderstorm

Movement order is determined by TF ID - the smaller the ID, the earlier the TF moves: first TF 1090, then 1091, ...

The paint is seriously scraped. Several coats will be needed once they get back to port.

I've sent the PG Charleston in to protect Kiska from possible DD raid, next turn. It has 4x6in radar controlled guns and 90 belt armor rating. Its only a victory value of 3, so i figure if it takes out a DD before sinking, it will be worth it

I thought steroids were illegal

DDs are out of gas. You have to worry about BBs being sent back (at gun point) to finish the job.

I don't think that 1000 lbs AP had enough penetration to get through the armor of a BB, especially the Yamato and Musashi.

Sent another unit on a suicide mission to gauge the Chungking defense. Since the last try about 3 weeks ago the base AV fell by 92 but the adjusted AV went up by 1832. At least the spotted units has gone down to 113 and the total # should fall below 300K soon.

Here's a list of my aces at this point in the game. As you can see its pretty evenly split b/t Navy and Army pilots. Most of the Army pilots got their kills over Port Moresby during the back and forth airbattles early in 1943. While most of the Navy Ace's are from the recent battle of Wake Is, in which japanese planes were swatted out of the sky with ease.

Of note:

VF-2 and VF-8 have carried the workload for the Navy. VF-2 is the most experience group having fought japanese carriers off Perth in April 1942 and off Wake Is in Sept 1943. (Lady Lex is my fav. carrier too...i hope to have her around still for the signing the the japanese surrender)

806 squadron is from the British carrier Indomitable. Which has also fought in the same carrier battles as the Lady Lex. Her Corsair squadron is the most powerful squadron i have at sea.

The AVG has accounted for 536 planes shot down thus far

I can't find him in the AVG or the "black sheep squadron" so i assume he's dead. I believe he was shot down over Soerabaja early in the war. Not sure how many kills he might've had as IIRC if you don't get over a certain amount of kills before you die, you don't end up making the WITP list.

Hows Saburo Sakai...is he still alive? (he's in one of the Tainan squadrons)
