quick review while i'm at work.....

its now mid-August 1944,and Japanese Army juggernaut continues to roll over country after country. 1st India, then China, and now USSR. Meanwhile the allies have advanced across the pacific, and now threaten the Home Islands from the north and the south. The DEI is isolated, and the British will soon reenter the war out of Karachi.

The KB is largely intact as is the Japanese battleline, however Japanese cruisers and destroyers have been pretty much decimated. On the Allied side, the Allied's number +15 CV's, and the BB force numbers around the same, despite losing a number of captial ships to japanese long lances.

A major air strike was launched against Ohka - Sakalin with the intent of destroying the Russian Air Force. Recons showed 250 fighters so I figured that there would be heavy A2A losses but once the CAP was cleared the bombers would obliterate everything on the ground. Well, the A2A went as expected and there were heavy ground losses on day 1. Had the day 2 strike been able to find it's target in the rain they would have finished off the 500+ Russain AC left on the ground without CAP. Unfortunetly they did not find their target on Day 2.

The Allies launched a massive rain on Tokyo destroying a ton of fighters and hitting some ships in port. The silver lining for me was that Kenny's top ace, Major Alder of the AVG (27 kills) was killed in the raid He has been a thorn in my side since the start of the war.

One of my ASW TFs made a wrong turn and ran into an air dropped mine field at Wakkani. They cleared it but one of my PCs hit 56 mines.

In the ground war, Khabarovsk and Uglahamensk were captured. Kenny had pulled most of the defenders out and has made a run for Iman.

DB and TBs are getting the worst of it. I may have to pull them out of the fight soon:

Another raid on Ohka - Sakalin finished off most of the Russain Airforce. Serves them right since once again their AA units shot down over 100 of my AC.

Bombardment raid on Kunashiri Jima failed to disript the defenders enough that I could retake the base. Another brilliant plan goes south.

Air dropped mines again took a toll on ASW TFs with poor senses of direction.

Allied CVs have been spotted near Kunashiri Jima headed towards Omniato. Could be a showdown next turn. Can massed low quality fighters and bombers penetrate the Uber-CAP?

A final raid on Ohka-Sakalin takes out the few remaining Russain planes. Elesewhere the air war starts to slow as thundersorms and low morale keep many of my planes grounded.

The first ground units have started to bombard Iman and I was suprized to see that the defender's AV was over 7500. I had anticipated that it would be about 6,000. More intel guys will be shot for this.

The Allied CVs spotted last turn have gone missing. I have a feelling another landing will take place soon

First probing attack at Iman showed it to be stronger than expected. This could be another Chungking.

Elsewhere a convoy returning to the HI got caught by Allied CVs. At least I was able to scuttle a few ships to save points.

India goes active next turn. Should be interesting.

There is an old saying that if you want to make an omlett you must break some eggs. With this in mind I resumed the bombing of Iman and lost another 100 AC to flak.

I am curious to see what the AV of the force that landed at Panjani is. My India garrison may be strong enough to hold out until the end of the war.

RUPD, you can upgrade Sonias.  Upgrade them to the Ki-32, then the Lily and from there to the Randy.

Thanks Mike. I wish I knew that in 1941 before I did away with all my Ki-32s. Now the upgrade path is closed Same thing with my Lilys that are now Sally/Helens. Their upgrade path to the Randy has been closed.

Another squadron of Randys would be a help.

my B-25's are actually my most experienced airunits with exp in the low 90's....couple that with 14x50cals.....and those are gonna be tough cookies to shoot down.

regardless....your comanders need to be shot

I can't afford to shoot anyone at this point due to ammo shortages. They will be transfered to a penal brigade that will test the defenses at Iman

Here's a picture of the situation near Japan. As you can see i've cornered the Imperial Japanese Navy at Ominato. Surely he can't have his fleet sunk in port, by LBA. So i expect him to lash out somewhere, to try and disrupt my offensive operation, and score some points. How he intends to do that, i haven't figured out yet.
