Those are the ones sitting on my shelf right now. There are others that I have read in the past and just can't remember the names off hand

I forgot about Run Silent Run Deep (I read it many, many, many years ago in high school). I still vote for Good Shepherd.

Status: offline 		He also wrote Sink the Bismark which was fairly good.

He wrote numerous non-fiction naval books as well which, though well written, were a little dry and definately written for a different audience than his Hornblower series; Hornblower series being far more simple and easy to read than his non-fiction works.

No - Herman Wouk (who served on a DMS, iirc) might be flattered about that, but it was definitely fiction.

Goobye to some - G. Forbes  The story of a PB4Y-2 squadron in the Pacific near the end of the war
Dauntless - B. Tillman
Hellcat-B. Tillman

Both of the B. Tillman books are out of print, but if you can find them they are pretty good action books.

Other very good non-fiction related to WITP if not strictly naval would be Samuari! by Saburo Sakai and Martin Caidin's Ragged, Rugged Warriors.

For Pacific Theater I greatly enjoyed "The Last Tallyho".  Can't remember who it was by.
