Yikes he's cut you off from PI. Are you going to take baten island back? I don't think you will care too much about that island until he starts putting Torpodo bombers there and anything in and out gets tagged.

Gentlemen,

I will give you a run down on whats happened so far in the game, I will be putting some additional screenshots from the past combat reports as soon as possible too.

Situation,  I have made steady progress in China and have so far captured Peking, Homan, Sian and now seiging Ichang.  I have successfully managed to drop 260k of supplies at the occupied Chinese port of tiensing, at the same time avoiding the US navy. I have held out at at Wuhan and Nanking that suffers from daily airattacks and bombardment attacks, and have brought in addition AA units to shoot down the RAF.  I have prevented two minor allied counter attacks with the use of my reserves from trying to cut my units off. My future plans is to head deeper into western china via Changking once Ichang falls. The road will be slow but I believe that route will bring victory for me in China.

My subs are slowly causing damaged to the US navy and have succesfully managed to sink the USS Idaho. However a number of my subs are starting to fail to return home as Allied ASW is getting stronger, and a number of them have high system damaged and are in dry dock.

US subs have also forced me to return 3 of my battleships to dry dock as they accumalated high system damaged. The Battleship Ise was lucky to be close to a size 10 port as it suffered 2 torpodoe hits, reaching a floatation damaged of 81% but managed to be saved.

The US have invaded bataan Island and Iwo Jima. Both had no garrision and fell easily. The US navy have bombarded a number of Japanese ports. The latest is port Teinsing.

The Japanase navy has so far avoided any engagement with the allies even when a number of opportunities came in terms if attacking allied shipping.  8 Japanese battleships are in dry dock, Ise with 98% system damaged and the rest in the 60's.

An on going operation to retake Iwo Jima has just taken place within the last few turns. 2 divisions plus 1 brigade have just landed. Allied forces spoted is 1 divison plus 1 calvary unit and some engineers.  The bulk of the US navy is most likely still at Shanghai getting refueled from the recent bombardment attack of Teinsing.  They may choose to full steam towards Iwo Jima.  And an possible engagement between Japanese and US fleets will certainly happen.  Allied warships at marcus islands may also attack.

We shall see.

General Billy, you mention the "standard house rule" of everyone but US staying neutral. I had not realized this was intended in WPO. Is that true of ALL the scenarios? Example, I'm playing the 1926-1930 Super Dreadnoughts scenario and I've been using Dutch and British boats to help protect Bataan. Also I've been moving their forces around to properly garrison Java, Malaya, and Borneo, though no land assaults on them as yet.

I think the presence of a mixture of British and Dutch boats in Bataan maybe DID help quite a bit for Bataan to be able to hold out this long (Aug 29, 1926) but then having 500 Assault Value, ~50K supply, and a size 7 Fort now is also helping a lot!

Based on my read of history, it is not totally unreasonable to imagine that the Brits and Dutch would have got at least PARTLY involved in a 1926 war b/w Japan and US, is it?

One of the things I find refreshing about this scenario compared to WiTP is the alternate history possibilities that it opens up.
