This sigint report is the first conclusive evidence of a Japanese build-up in the Kuriles/Sakhalin area to counter a possible U.S. northern offensive and has been duly noted in terms of preparations for Operation Bulldog. B-24's transferred to Pago Pago will begin launching airfield strikes against the Jap base at Wallis Is (this base operating P1Y Francis and other bombers that have been hitting Pago Pago & Savaii on a daily basis). A very substantial number of U.S. planes of all types are staged at Penhryn Is awaiting transfer into Pago Pago - fresh U.S. air reinforcements into Pago Pago are planned to go in daily, plans also to launch continuous attacks against Jap airfields on Upolu & Wallis Is.
