Looks like US aerial torpedos in the game are far worse than in reality.

Given the problems reported with US submarine torpedos and US destroyer torpedos it's not all that surprising that the flyboys got to complain too. I suspect the key words in your post are "far worse". By the same token there are those who seem to FEEL that the incidence of success for IJN torpedo attacks throughout the war has something to do with their attacks on 7 Dec and 10 Dec 1941 even though such results were never demonstrated after those dates.
