Another day same question. Will the RE be released to the public in the near future? maybe this is the wrong forum? Any suggestions where I can get an answer to this question?

Being the pain in the ass that I'm becoming... Bump!

At the same time there is a requirement for AGSI to have a master code that will unlock DBs that we wish to look at or use.

Care to explain? Looking at a database is fine.

Using other people's models without written permission is against the law in over 70 countries, including most of the developed world.

Well here is a suggestion, take it or leave it. Give us the tools to do as we please and let us fight it out. AGSI can take care of the game engine. It works with countless other programs and often means a rich and vibrant community

cuthbo2001,

But it didn't work in this specific case. AGSI got dragged kicking and screaming into the mess and the Harpoon community split into mulitple factions. Until such a time as PDB and DB2K have entered the wastebin of history, the community is unlikely ever again to be etiher as rich or as vibrant as it should be. And that is one crying shame...

Personally, I can't wait for HUD III. It should be fully compliant with ANW 3.8++ and will hopefully generate as much controversy as ... well, something that doesn't generate any controversy at all.

Best wishes,

I think most people are in one way or another but what is the relevance to this particular thread? I know you don't want that discussion once again so you might wanna consider not laying the bait for it ;-) People might just bite at it.

Just a hint.

Yes it is. But what you're seeing here is rooted in events that far far predate this forum, AGSIs re-starting work on H3 or the incorporation of Matrix Games for that matter. This stuff started sometime around 1997 with an initial clash of personalities. Most of these people are long gone from the community. Yes that's right, a decade.

The people that are still involved with this have a shoot first, shoot some more and then, if there's anyone still lying around, ask a few pointed questions. There is nothing but hate left.

If anyone can see a way out of this then great. Good luck trying to get it work. You'll have a better chance to stop and earthquake. This may sound depressing but it's as true as the sun rising in the east in the morning.

Dale, you're right - it's even more depressing than I thought it was.

Is it possible to get an agreement with the various factions to leave the Matrix forum as a demilitarized zone?

Best wishes,

I have several times proposed compromise solutions. In particular that those from Players Database do not post to HHQ threads and vice versa. This was refused by Herman. I wouldn't like anyone to think that we haven't tried at HarpoonHQ.

I am hoping that matters resolve themselves but its silly to try and blame HHQ for all this. I don't actually see anyone from Harpoon HQ posting to these boards much at all.

How to put threads on HHQ when you have no access?
I think that vice versa means: 2-way, how do you explain that?

And last but not least:

Question: What do you think the reason is that few HQ want to put threads on other fora? Is it because of the "friendly" atmosphere on every forum? or is it because anyone who wants to put a thread must count with being banned from HQ?

The only thing I have see you are doing here, is creating an atmosphere that simply makes it impossible to go for comprises and solutions.

Have nice dreams!

Cheers,

The proposal I put forward was for this forum and seemed a perfectly reasonable suggestion.
Sorry but I don't understand the rest of your question, no-one will have been banned at Harpoon HQ for posting to another forum. Not too sure that was what you were trying to imply though?
