Listening to a book on Agincourt... the English longbow (with steel arrowhead) could penetrate a wooden door 4" thick!!!

Very interesting battle.

Well, if a barn ever steps out of line, shoot it right between the hinges.

Naw.  Just another step.  I'm not even promotable until 23 Dec of this year.  If I get promoted any time soon, it'll be around the time I deploy.  Maybe not then.  Who knows.

Just out of curiosity, if you get light col, can they keep you in the same post or do they have to move you as well?

Year 44:

Consuls are Titus Statilius Taurus and Gaius Sallustius Crispus Passienus

The emperor Claudius returns from his British campaign in triumph, the southeast part of Briton now held by the Roman Empire, but the war will rage for another decade and a half.

Mauretania becomes a Roman province.

The Isle of Rhodes returns to the Roman Empire.

With the death of Herod Agrippa, who may have been poisoned by the Romans, Judaea is controlled by Roman governors.

Cuspius Fadus, governor of Judea (44-46), suppresses the revolt of Theudas who is decapitated.

Pomponius Mela writes De situ orbis, a geography of the Earth.

I'm confused. Did I mis the Spartacus uprising? IIRC Valerius Messalla was consul that year.

Hiya, rogue.

The Thread without T and the Martian is like Cheers without Norm and Cliff.

I'll leave it up to the rest of you to decide which is which.

Never watched Cheers but I get the sentiment.

I'd be able to stay in my weekday job, but that doesn't determine my max rank. It's my weekend job where that's determined. I'm currently in a MAJ slot on the weekend but that's likely to change next year when I deploy. I deploy doing my weekend job (as we all do). It's actually pretty rare to do your weekend job during the week, at least if you're in a field unit (as I am). Does that thoroughly confuse you? It just did me and I'll living the dream (and just woke up from a couple hour long nap).
