I am tempted. I got a corrupted turn from Scout1 and am chasing him all over the forum trying to get him to resend before my wife finishes watching a crap programe on TV. With T gone I think that if you timed it right the only person who could stop you would be Cid - he tends to be aware instantly when anyone post on the development sticky!

Year 71:

The Romans establish a fortress at York (Eboracum), as a base for their northern forces. Initially established solely for the legion IX Hispania, expansion later included public housing, baths and temples.

Potillius Cerealis, governor of Britain, puts down a revolt by the Brigantes.

Vespasian and Nerva are Roman Consuls.

Potillius Cerealis defeats Claudius Civilis at the Battle of Treves, thus quelling the Batavian rebellion.

Titus is made preatorian praefect and receives pro-consular command and also tribunician power, all of which indicated that Vespasian would follow the hereditary tradition of succession.

Reign of Rabel II, king of Nabataea. He makes Bostra, Syria, his second capital.

Use of locks with keys of clever design begins in Rome.

I have started and was working my way through the stickies when I came across on where T was the last to post. I can't disturb the Great Dane's last physical presence!

Year 71 BC:

SPARTACUS!! SPARTACUS!! SPARTACUS!!!

Third Servile War ends - Slave uprising under leadership of Spartacus is crushed by a Roman army under Marcus Licinius Crassus. Slaves taken prisoner are crucified all naked along the Via Appia.

Nessebar in modern-day Bulgaria comes under Roman rule.

Hello everybody, my name is Bob and I'm a serial Faberer. I've been clean from Fabers for several days now. I know now that even one Faber is wrong, I just take it one page at a time and try to stay strong.

Anyway, anyone can Faber the stickies.  The real challenge is to be the creator of all the topics on a page   The closest contender is Cid in the editing subforum....

I was planning to do everything and started on the stickies because they do not change much, but then I was convinced that to even contemplate such a thing is a SIN! I keep hearing the voice of my Guardian Angel. He's called Bob apparently and his raison d'etre is to educate and divert others from the path he once (very bloody recently!) trod...

And I disagree about the real challenge too. If you start all the threads your name stays on screen longer than being last post. Why is the last sticky locked anyway?

How old are you Bob? You seem to remember lots about the Roman Empire? It's all I can do to remember what happened on Rome last week. Bad language, sex and extreme violence I think (Top Show!).

I have not seen anything from Onime for a while? Is he ok? Has anyone heard from everybody's favourite Dane and our ex-resident Martian?

Anybody have any plans for the 4th? I'm heading over to a friends house that overlooks the city...we intend to watch people's houses burst into flames as they misuse illegal fireworks.

I am off to a wake with a funeral and a dentist appointment tomorrow. Not a fun holiday for me.

Watch those illegal fireworks. Just saw on CNN that someone got killed by them already

It's not the firecrackers that kill...it's the stupidity...

Anything that kills stupid people is good for the gene pool
