Not sure how much of this is stock vs CHS, but .....

Running 2 games, both as Japan. One is CHS (Mar 42) the other is the BigB mod (Aug 42) ....
There appears to be a HUGE difference in terms of Japanese production/growth. I've done about the same things in both and there is a HUGE difference regarding HI available. Can't say specifics as the walls have ears .......

I play stock with subchaser's map.
Too long into games and too stubborn to change, even with the uber nikmod.

It doesn't make any sense, Admiral. Were we better than the Japanese or just luckier?

Personally, I could never go back to stock. Though the AI might be fine tuned, I cringe everytime I see the '75th RAAF Squadron' and the rail racetrack around Australia.

I'm a historical player and if I'm going to be staring at these units for the next 700 turns, I feel the OOBs and geography should be a bit more correct before I can get fully immersed in the game. CHS addresses these issues.

Others have obviously done a lot more play testing than I have but I have not encountered any issues with CHS AI so far.

I agree completely.

Better map.
Better OOB.
More accurate AC ranges.

It's not perfect, but it gives a better representation of the conflict.
